Funeral services for Timothy C Lyons, 73, of 709 14th Ave SE will be Saturday, July 21, 1984 at 3 p.m. at Central United Methodist Church with the Rev Pete Furio officiating.
Burial will be in the Decatur City Cemetery with Brown Service Funeral Home directing.
The body will be at the church one hour before the service.
Mr. Lyons died Thursday, July 19 at Decatur General Hospital. He was formerly employed by Decatur Iron and Steel Co. and later owner Lyons Electric Co from which he had retired. He was a member of Central United Methodist Church and the Friendship Bible Sunday Class.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Carmichael Lyons, one son, John T Lyons, of Decatur, one daughter, Virginia Lyons Rutherford of Athens, GA, one brother, John McCain Jr. of Atmore, and three grandchildren. Ruth and Tim celebrated their 50th anniversary on June 17, 1984.
Pallbearers will include Don Keil, Melvin Ozier, Donald Branum, Wesley Cook, Emmett McClary, Bruce Spencer, Ralph Agee, and Grady Shaw.

78, retired medical doctor, CourtlandOne of Lawrence County's greatest assets, Dr. Edwin Davis Carpenter died Monday, July 19, 1999, at Parkway Medical Center. Dr. Carpenter worked in the medical profession for 50 years. He was a Louisiana State University graduate and U.S. Navy veteran.
A graveside service was held for Dr. Carpenter on Wednesday, July 21, 10 a.m, at Roselawn Cemetery with Roselawn Funeral Home directing and the Rev.James Long officiating.
He was born in Ranburne to the Rev. Z.R. and Irene Jirels Carpenter. Dr. Carpenter was the widower of Margaret Carpenter, Courtland. He was a member of Courtland United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Beth Carpenter of Courtland and Linda Carpenter of New Orleans, La.; one stepson, Charles Winton of Decatur; one sister, Frances Summerford of Oneonta; and two stepgrandsons.
Pallbearers were Stephen Sherrill, Robert Lee Terry, Randall Terry, Ronnie Terry, Lynn Rutherford and Chuck Winton.

Donald was a graduate of Beloit Memorial High School. He married Mary M. Menke on April 16, 1966 in Beloit, WI. She predeceased him on November 14, 1996. Donald was employed by Wisconsin Knife Works and American Extrusion as a machinist. Donald enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers and NASCAR. An avid bowler, Donald bowled his whole life. He was a longtime member of the men's bowling association and was fortunate to bowl a 300 game. He passed away on April 17, 2007 in Beloit Memorial Hospital after a long battle with emphysema. Survivors include his four children; grandchildren; two brothers; four sisters; ; mother-in-law; sister-in-law; brother-in-law; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, son-in-law, Paul "Tom" Cole II, brother, William "Carp" Carpenter, grandson, Joseph Wolff, nephews, Willie, Michael, Stevie and Little John, and an aunt, Beverly Krinkey.
