Additional information about Paternal Line:
Not long after the end of The Thirty Years' War (1648), Michael Zimmerman
moved from Steffisburg, Canton of Bern (Switzerland) to Sulzfeld where he
worked on the Rabenperg estate. Today, we call it Ravensburg. This
translocation was probably due to the need for workers in southwest Germany
due to the great loss of life during the war. Hans Christopher Zimmerman
emigrated from Germany to US about 1717 and settled in VA.

Hi John and All, I'm back. Wow, this could give us some good leads. It takes me back to some of my Germanna Colonies NOTES written by a John Blankenbaker. One of his writings combined a large number of his earlier Germanna Notes along with many emails which was titled, "Descendants of Michael Zimmerman" and dated, September 6, 2004. Michael is shown to have been married two times. His second wife was Elisabetha Albrecht, and they were married on May 1, 1666. His first wife was recorded only as Benedicta and she died on October 4, 1665 in Sulzfeld, Baden. Michael and Benedicta had three children: Johannes, b. 1637; Christian, b. 1649; and Michael, b. 1651. There are a large number of Germanna Notes that show this same Michael Zimmerman as being born in 1607 and also 1617. I assume that the original document or source could have been read either way since Blankenbaker has done that at different times in different Germanna Notes. However, Guy Zimmerman (124510) records his Michael Zimmerman's birth year as 1617. ...
