Y-DNA research indicates the biological father was a Carpenter from Group 5.After a review of Group 5 descendants and focused on 14 counties in Texas in and around Denton County, Tarrant County and Dallas County with the following criteria; Males with the Carpenter/Zimmerman surnames, born 1895 to 1908 with any connection to the 14 counties searched, I found six (6) possible candidates in three (3) families.
While all are descendants of John (Hans) Zimmerman-92092
The last four are closer related as being descendants of Henry Carpenter-112677.Of the six possbiles, the first two sons of William Jasper Carpenter-147418 of Tarrant County, Texas.

Carpenter-148277 (William Jasper) was born on 2 May 1905 in Wayland, Stephens, TX. He died on 13 Nov 1985 in Denton, Denton, TX. He was buried in Medlin Cem., Trophy Club, Denton, TX.
In 1930 he is single and was in Precinct 4, Denton, Texas as a boarder with the Gardner family. He married 23 Dec 1927 in Grapeville, Tarrant, TX. His wife was from Roanoke, Denton, TX.2) Robert Lee Carpenter-148284 (William Jasper) was born on 11 May 1903 in , Stonewall, TX. He died in Nov 1972 in , Tarrant, TX. He did not marry until 17 Mar 1934 in Roanoke, Denton, TX. Not sure where he was in 1930.
The next two possibles are sons of Doc Solomon Carpenter-148244 of Denton County, Texas. See B) below. He has another son (b. 1909) just outside the birth range not listed here.

4) Rev. Solomon Luther "Sol" Carpenter-148246 (Doc Solomon) was born on 14 Jul 1901 in , Denton, TX. He died in 1957 in ,, Japan. Solomon married in Nov 1924 in ,, TX. He had two girls by Dec 1930 and was living in Denton County.
The last two possbles are sons of Solomon Lafayette S. "Fate" Carpenter-148238 of Denton county, Texas.

6) Coyt L. "Coit" Carpenter-148243 was born on 30 Nov 1908 in Denton, Denton, TX. He died on 1 Jun 1995 in Denton, Denton, TX. He was buried in Swisher Cem., Lake Dallas, Denton, TX. Coyt married on 7 Jul 1935. He was living with his parents in 1930.
