MORRISTOWN -- Glen Doyle Carpenter, 68, of Mohawk, died Monday evening.
He was a member of Lakeshore Baptist Church.
Mr. Carpenter was a retired employee of Atmos Energy Corp.
He was the son of the late Earl and Thelma Carpenter.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years: Georgia (Gorman) Carpenter; a daughter and son-in-law: Cheryl Renee and Harold Kite of Mohawk; two sons and daughters-in-law: Tim and Cindy Carpenter and Brian and Shannon Carpenter, all of Mohawk; his grandchildren and their spouses: Jennifer Ward, Jessica Ward, Shauna Carpenter, Brandon Carpenter, Tyler Parker, Rodney Kite, Elizabeth and Matt Carter, and Tasha and Andy Grooms; four great-grandchildren; a sister and brother-in-law: Shirley and Palmer Blanken; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles; a host of friends; and special caregivers: the staff and doctors of Morristown Dialysis Center.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today at Stubblefield Funeral Home in Morristown.
The funeral service will be held at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon in the funeral home chapel. The Rev. Larry McAnally and the Rev. Grant Vaughn will officiate.
Interment will follow in Hamblen Memory Gardens.

James “Allen” Carpenter, age 74, of Friendsville, went to his Heavenly Home after a long battle with Leukemia on Monday morning, March 21, 2016. He owned and operated South East Vulcanizing and loved coaching, fishing and being “Paw” most of all.
Preceded in death by his parents, Roscoe and Essie Carpenter.
Funeral service will be held 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at Miller Funeral Home Magnolia Chapel, Rev. Toby Downey officiating. Family and friends will meet 1:00 p.m. Thursday, at Carpenters Methodist Cemetery for the graveside service and interment. The family will receive friends 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday.

Survivors include her sons and daughters in law, Marty and Kaye Carpenter, Jody and Andrea Carpenter; daughter and son in law, Beth and Glenn Long; grandchildren, Maddie Carpenter, Josh Carpenter, Ethan Long and Rachel Carpenter; sister and brother-in-law, Gail and Bill Glandon; brothers and sisters-in-law, Marshall and Laurie Williams, Ronnie and Mourine Williams; sister-in-law, Nancy Williams; and several nieces and nephews.

He was retired from Alcoa Aluminum Company with over 25 years of service. He was an avid farmer and loved the outdoors. He also loved being with his family.
