Augustus B. "Gus" Kiser.  A. B. Gus Kiser researched the Kiser family extensively during his lifetime. His
daughters, Alna & Elva Kiser, have graciously opened his files to me (Robert C. Carpenter).
Alna personally helped me with the Larkin & Frances Carpenter Kiser family. Alna & Clyde Kiser also plan
to publish a book on the Kiser family.  RCC


4710. Clyde Vernon Kiser

Clyde Vernon Kiser, 95, died January 25, 2000, at Courtland Terrace. He was a
native of Bessemer City, son of the late Augustus Burton and may Carpenter Kiser,
husband of the late Dr. Louise Kennedy Kiser, brother of the late Alna L. and Elva E.
Kiser, 1925 graduate and master's degree in 1927 of the University of North Carolina -
Chapel Hill, PhD from Columbia University, 1932, noted population expert,
demographer with the Milbank Memorial Fund dedicated to Public helath,New York
City, taught courses at New York University, lived in Princeton, NJ, until retirement to
Bessemer City in 1970's, authored-edited many books on population studies, co-
authored books with sister Alna Kiser on Kiser-Carpenter family history, served
onboard of directors of Gallaudet College, Washington, DC, consultant to various
governments around the world on health and demographics, listed in Who's Who in
America for many years, lifelong member of Grace Lutheran Church, Bessemer City.
