Notes

429. Hensley Carpenter Jr.

BIRTH: May have been born as early as 1807 but Alton Carpenter indicates the
later date (1820/1822) is more accurate.  Also born in AL instead of VA.

WILL: Submitted by Alton D. Carpenter - Dated 6 Feb. 1856.
I have in hand an electrostatic copy of a holographic will obviously copied
from a document which was written in cursive with pen and ink on both sides of
a lined paper.  The thickness of the paper in the original allowed the writing
on the farside of the document to appear in the image of the nearside (copy).
The images of blotched ink in some characters are a mirror image that bears
witness of the double sided original.  Turner Carpenter loaned the copy to me
on Oct. 24. 1999.  The image does not allow computerized enhancement with
ordinary software and scanner.   The following is a transcription of the copy.
