8318. Wellington H. Carpenter

The Cassville, New York 1919 obituary of Oliver's brother, Wellington H., says this of the Carpenter family::
"Mr. Carpenter was born in the town of Paris, May 17, 1847, son of Lucas and Alphea (Althea) Redford (Radford) Carpenter, early settlers of the town. They came from Connecticut. His great-grandfather Carpenter came from England and was one of the early settlers of this country, while Mr. Carpenter's grandfather, Oliver Carpenter, was a native of Connecticut. He came to Oneida county and the family has been associated with this county during its entire history." [Obituary, Feb 2, 1919, I have a copy of the original but no date or name of the publication.]
