6124. Nathan Carpenter

BIRTH: probably born in Mansfield, Tolland, CT.

Hannah Thomas

NAME: First name is Hannah - NOT Anne.

PARENTS: This Hannah may be??? - Note: Death year is off.
Hannah THOMAS (AFN: 18RL-5VN)
Birth:  Abt 1756    or Mar 1755 Somers, Tolland, CT (IGI)
Death:   1832     Milanville  or May 1832 Milanville, Wayne, PA (IGI)
Father:  Moses THOMAS (AFN: 15QQ-G9X)
Mother:  Sarah HORTON (AFN: 15QQ-GB5)

OR ...

Hannah Thomas  Birth:  1754   Haddam, Middlesex, Connecticut
Father:  Roger Thomas
Mother:

One way is to determine which Hannah married Oliver CALKINS in 1775 . I noticed that one person in the IGI smashed these two together using double birth locations!

6126. Ezra Carpenter

Number 3502 in the Carpenter Memorial on page 399.
Family on page 587 (# 975).  Per a note on page 587, this family was sent
to the compiler of the above record, by letter in 1848 by Mary Goodrich
of Whitehall, NY.
Born 1757 per the CM.  He settled in Hanover, NH and united with the Church
there.  His name with the names of his oldest children can be found on the
church records.  He died at Whitehall, NY, in 1812, aged 55 per the CM.

12126. Nathan Carpenter

Number 5755 in the Carpenter Memorial on page 587.
No family listed.  They were living in Clintonville, NY in 1848.

12128. Anna Carpenter

Number 5757 in the Carpenter Memorial on page 587.

12131. Belora or Belary Carpenter

Number 5760 in the Carpenter Memorial on page 587.
No family listed in the CM.  Residence: Clintonville, NY per CM.  Not in AF.
There is some confusion regarding the sex of this person.  Is Belary male or female?  The IGI has both!
Same for spouse, Augustine Lockwood!  The IGI has a marraige of the female Augustine Lockwood marrying a male Belary Carpenter about 1817 in Clintonville, Keeseville, NY.

SEX ISSUE RESOLVED!

"An Ecclesiastical Book Belonging to the First Presbyterian Church of Whitehall"
1822-1835?
(From Sleeper News, vol. 2, no. 2; vol. 2, no. 3; vol. 2, no. 4 and vol. 3, no. 1. Copyright 1998.)
The following is a copy of an old book, marked on the cover "Infant Baptisms and Marriages," and on the fly leaf "Memorandum of Baptisms and Marriages in the First Presbyterian Society of Whitehall--and occasional instances elsewehere--administered by me from my first settlement in the Gospel Ministry. Aug. 7, 1822."
Signed: John R. COE
The book is just above a hundred years old. It is very well preserved, and the writing is exceedingly bright. It is exactly the same size as this page, and about half an inch thick, with plain, rather thick paper, such as they used to prefer for quill pens. The cover is pasteboard with imitation leather back and corners.
Marriages
Augustus LOCKWOOD to Belora CARPENTER, Oct. 26, 1824 (Augustin LOCKWOOD died July 23, 1832, aged 30. Williams St. Cemetery).

Augustus Lockwood

NAME: Augustus not Augustine as reported by the CM.  See spouse's notes.

6129. Benjamin Carpenter

Number 3503 in the Carpenter Memorial on page 399.

Kenneth Gene (the Quadruple Great grandson son of this William) submitted the
descendancy line of Jotham Carpenter (b. 1740/1750).   Some birth
dates have been given "abt" years for privacy concerns.

He was a farmer near Nassau (Bridge), Rensselaer, NY.

12136. Dexter William Carpenter

Resided in Nassau, N.Y.

Betsey

NAME: Listed as Betsey Carpenter in one record.  However, it is assumed that this was her married name.
