They went to WI in 1853 with Jeremiah's 4 brothers, but Jeremiah later returned to OH with his family.

Daniel and Margaret went to WI in 1853 with Daniel's 4 brothers.

11978. Justin Carpenter

Justin and Caroline to WI in 1853 with Justin's 4 brothers. They settled on a farm west of the village of Spring Green, WI.


11984. John Hiram Carpenter

While as a youth, his family, resettled to a farm near Lexington, OH.
Following the Civil War, he and his wife settled on a farm at White Mound, town of Franklin, Sauk County, WI with his older brothers.  His first wife gave him one child before she died.

After he remarried he had 3 more children with his 2nd wife. John served as a school clerk, Town clerk and Town Chairman of the Town of Franklin in Sauk County. John & Carrie moved to Spring green, WI in 1898. He represented Spring Green on the Sauk County Board of Supervisors for many years. He also served as Secretary of Franklin Farmers Mutual Fire Insurance Company from 1895 until his death on 23 August 1928.

CIVIL WAR VET - 1) Enlisted as a private on October 8, 1862 to served 9 months in Company F, 43rd Regiment, Ohio Volunteer Infantry. 2) Enlisted as a sergeant on October 3, 1864 in Company G, Wisconsin Volunteer First Heavy Artillery Battalion.

Caroline "Carrie" Utendorfer

She was a school teacher when she married John Hiram Carpenter.


19604. Frank Alonzo Carpenter

Frank drowned in the Wisconsin River west of Spring Green. He had completed three years of study at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, College of Engineering at the time of his death. He was a member of the the University Basketball team. He was never married.

Also living there was Lucretia Winters age 20 OH and a William age 4/12 OH.
Nathan married Mary Parsons on 4-29-1838 by Rev. Horace Parsons, Vol. 1, page
196.

AF has her born about 1817 with the last name of BOTTS.  Unknown if PARSONS or
BOTTS is maiden or married.
She married second a Harris.  Residence: Decaturville, OH.
