Subject: Try to make sense out of my Carpenter family line
Hello John:
My grandmother was Fannie Lorena Carpenter Underwood.  She died in Chase County, Kansas in 1943.  She was a daughter of Chauncey Edward Carpenter and Frances A. Handy Carpenter.  Chauncey Edward Carpenter was born in Herkimer County New York on 29 May 1845 and died 9 Dec. 1919 in Paso Robles, San Luis Obispo County, CA.  His father was Halsey Champlain Carpenter who was born in Rhode Island and his mother was Sarah Ann Vannatter Carpenter.  Halsey C. Carpenter was born 6 Aug 1809 and died 10 Jan 1892 in Richland County, Wisconsin.   Here is my problem.  In the Carpenter Memorial it says that Halsey was the son of Daniel 639 (1966).  The Registration of Death that I received from Wisconsin says Halsey's father is William.  So far I haven't been able to find any records to prove either way.  If I can make the connection through several Daniels, I might be able to connect to the William (16) in the Carpenter Memorial.  I am a member of the Daughters of the American Colonists and I would really like to have this part of my family on record.  I hope you can help.  Thanks Janice Jenne Hill

Mary Amanda Carpenter

Last name is probably married name.

27204. Annie E. Carpenter

Per census page - it appears that Annie is a child of Millie, but this makes Millie with a child at age 12.  So by default Levi is probably the father.  Proof is needed!

John Enoch Ooley

CENSUS: 1900 US Census - See image: RIN 34632 Noah A. Carpenter 1900.jpg
Noah A. is the second Noah on the census page. And this John is a son-in-law.
