24887. Gilbert Saltonstall Carpenter

Died of cancer and ashes put in York River from a boat by son Albert
Carpenter. He was an advertising executive in New York, Newark, and
Monticlair. Later changed his career to own a marina in Gloucester Point, VA.
Sold the marina to son, Albert.  He was a Captain US Army Ordinance Corps (WW
II). He was 6' 2" tall, bald with a pot belly.
(World War II Vet).

This family updated by Dudley Carpenter who used Bible Records and
handwritten corrections to his Carpenter Memorial (1898) via E-MAIL dated
Sun, 20 Aug 2000.

Gertrude May Howe

BURIAL: Cremated. Ashes put in York River.
She was 5'2" petite, with a turned up nose.

BURIAL: Cremated. Ashes put in the Pacific Ocean.
MARRIAGE: Divorced from first wife.
Married second wife: Margaret Kennedy Powers (b. 1916, Santa Barbara,
on July 18, 1953 in Santa Barbara, CA.


24889. Edward Laramie Carpenter Jr.

He was a Lt. Commander in the Navy and died in a plane crash on the side
of Mt. Moffett in Alaska.  Died in the service of his country.  World War II.
