Per Helene Carpenter Ramos (b. 1924) of Castro Valley, CA (letter dated 3
June 1999): She provided birth, death, & marriage dates with place corrections.
She also supplied the following data:
He was an attorney, a judge, and a reserve army officer who practiced law In
Rockford, IL for 14 years before being called to active military service prior
to World War II. After 15 years of army and air force assignments, he retired
as a colonel from his final post as commander of Parks Air Force Base, CA and
settled In nearby Castro Valley. There he was appointed Alameda County's
legislative advocate and served In that capacity for 11 years.

26434. Franklin Gaylord Darrow

He had one son.  A grandson named William K. Darrow lives in Honolulu, Hawaii
in 6/1998.   Franklin died in the 1918 Flu Epidemic of the flu.

He died in a plane crash.  Place and date unknown.


26455. George Carl Carpenter

He was an infantry Corporal during World War I and was an Army recruiter after
the War.  He was wounded in action, lung damage, by poisenous gas during the
Battle of the Argonne in WWI.  He was divorced before 1930.
