27833. George Green Carpenter

The 1880 census shows he was born in TN. P286.  He came to Texas at age 5.
He had skin cancer on face and temple that caused his death since it went into
his brain.  Funeral announcement cofirms father and his first wife,
Cynthia as mother.  George was a retired railroad worker.
George was a member of Company L, 37th Infantry, Texas National Guard known as
the "Keepers of the Fire."


Harriet (Hattie) Louisa Brown

She died while staying with her half sister Elizabeth (Lizzie) Willis.
Harriet came to Texas at age 8 (1883) and settled first in Mertens, TX.

  Married Edith Eugenie (Genie) St. John (DOB 11/19/31) on May 31, 1952 in Moorhead, MN (Grace Methodist Church).   Divorced in 1969.  Died October 27, 1986 in Minneapolis, MN.
An accountant with Farm Credit Services Crookston, First National Bank in Grand Forks ND, and as an accountant in  Minneapolis, MN.   5 children
