Obituaries
CARPENTER Everett A. Age 82, of Little Marsh, PA, died November 16, 2004 at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital, Wellsboro, PA. He was the husband of Marlene M. Ferris Carpenter whom he married August 31, 1952. Everett was born November 6, 1922 in Chatham Township, PA, the son of the late Neil C. and Jessie Angus Carpenter. He was a graduate of the Little Marsh High School, Class of "1940", and was a retired farmer and school bus driver. He was a member of the Shortsville Baptist Church, Shortsville, PA, and a U.S. Army veteran during World War II. Surviving are his wife; sons and daughters-in-law, Dale and Elaine Carpenter, Stone Mountain, GA, and David and Lori Carpenter, Lawrenceville, PA; daughters and sons-in-law, Jane and Howard Young, Mansfield, PA, Linda and Matt Whiting, Lawrenceville, PA, and Cheryl and Ed Jelliff, Clappertown, PA; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Janice Mitcheltree, Wellsboro, PA, Shirley Hutcheson, Greensboro, NC, and Patricia Brackley, Greensboro, NC; brother and sister-in-law, Neil and Mary Lee Carpenter, Wellsboro, PA; several nieces and nephews. he was preceded in death by a son, Lynn Carpenter in 1961. Family will receive friends and relatives on Saturday, November 20, 2004, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Shortsville Baptist Church, Shortsville, PA. A Memorial Service will follow at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Ed Jelliff, his son-in-law, and Pastor Daryl Butler officiating. Burial in Middlebury Union Cemetery. Family will provide flowers. If desired, memorials may be sent to the Shortsville Baptist Church, R.R.2, Box 69B, Middlebury Center, PA 16935.
