31994. Frank Arnold Carpenter

Information supplied on this line by:  Charles A. Carpenter (b. 1947) of St. Cloud, FL.
SRC: Birth and death certificates.

DEATH: Died in the Roger Williams Hospital, Providence, RI of lung cancer.
Frank did not smoke but Laura did.  She also died of lung cancer.
MARR: Divorced about 1957, Frank never remarried.

Frank worked as a tool and die maker for the Frank Morrow Company.
Although uneducated, he was an intelligent man, inventive, independent and
thrifty.  He built his own home at 63 Cove Ave., Barrington, RI in 1936.
About 1957 or 1958 he moved to Florida where his father Charles had retired and
worked there as a truck driver.  He moved back to Providence, RI about 1959
where he lived for a while.  He worked then for Idependent Glass Company as a
glass cutter, glazer and installer until he retired at age 65.
He returned to his home in Barrington about 1960/1961 and lived there until his
death in 1990.
Frank was well like at work and by the people in his neighborhood.  He had many
friends and could always be counted on to lend a helping hand to anyone who
asked.  Frank did not go out to socialize.  He went to work, came home and
basically kept to himself.
He had been very ill as a child and had lost a lung to tuberculosis.  He also
had polio which shortened one leg considerably.
Frank was not an outwardly religious man and did not attend church, but
believed in God.  Frank retained his independent nature even in his later
years, depending entirely on himself for everthing, but always offering a
helping hand to anyone in need.
