David I. Carpenter, 74, Savannah Missouri, passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, July 29, 2014.David was born May 14, 1940 to Martin and Luanne Carpenter. He served 4 years in the U. S. Army. On June 15, 1963 he married Bonnie Kissick in Atchison, Kansas, she survives of the home.
David spent his career as a Teamsters Union truck driver with Lehr Construction and IHP.
He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and he always had the television turned on to channel 5.
David was preceded in death by his parents; brother; Jack Carpenter, and granddaughter Jennifer.
Additional survivors include daughters, Penny (Rick) Davis, Savannah, Tammy (Herb) Wandfluh, Savannah, Cheryl Carpenter Richardson, Saint Joseph, Carol Ann (Mike) Curtis, Savannah; brothers, Martin Carpenter and Bob Carpenter; sister, Doris Leeson; grandchildren, David M, Tarah, Trista, Dylan, Courtney, Shelby, Stephanie, Jordan, Amanda, Bubba, Jeremy, Chelsea; 15 great- grandchildren; numerous nieces & nephews.
Services 1:30 p.m., Friday, August 1, 2014 at Heaton-Bowman-Smith Savannah Chapel where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday evening. Interment at Bennett Lane Cemetery, Savannah.
