Subject: Additional Information Needed On The Carpenters and Sanderfords of North Carolina
As per your request, I am contacting you by your personal email address. Any contact information of individuals with information on the Sanderfords or the Carpenters of North Carolina would be appreciated.
Raleigh, NC is the only place that I have every found that had two pages of "Sanderford"s in the white pages of the 1996 telephone book. In the late 1990s I spent hours in the public library in downtown Nashville doing research on the Sanderford family looking for the branch from Franklin, North Carolina.
Joel Gray Sanderford, my great great grand father, married Sarah Elizabeth Carpenter in 1828 in Alabama. I found a note from a relative giving the name of "Noah Carpenter" as being the grandfather of John Rice Sanderford, my great grandfather and son of Joel Gray and Sarah Elizabeth. I have not found any "Noah Carpenter"s on the Carpenters side. I have also tried Noah Sanderford with no success.
Some other family information states, that Joel Gray Sanderford went to Alabama with Sarah Elizabeth Carpenter's family and the Alford family. They all traveled together and obtain land in Alabama after leaving North Carolina.
Any information that you may have would be appreciated. Thank you for making contact with me.
