3501. Wanda M. Lux

In 1974 Wanda was of Scotts, Kalamazoo, MI at the time of her father's death.

Pease, 66, of Scotts, and formerly of Union City, died Monday, Jan. 25, 1999, in Corpus Christi, Texas, where she had wintered for several years. She was born Oct. 26, 1932, in Union City to Ellis and Gladys (Washburn) Lux and had resided in Scotts for 47 years. She was employed as a bookkeeper in the family business, Pease Meat Packing, with her husband.  She married Donald W. Pease on June 28, 1951, in Newton Twp..  He survives.  Also surviving are sons, David and Thomas Pease of Scotts; daughters, Colleen Ensing of Lebanon, Ohio, and Teresa Logan of Grand Ledge; 10 grandchildren; her mother, Gladys Lux of Marshall; brothers, Leo and Mike Lux; and sisters, Doretha Pease, Sue Heikes, Dorla Nowakowski and Mary Ellen Octavo. Services: 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.  Burial: Gilson Cem., Scotts.

In January 1977 Harold was of Burlington according to his mother's obituary. In 1987 Harold was of Burlington according to his sister's, Arlene's, obituary.

OBITUARY.  Battle Creek Enquirer and News, Wednesday, July 1, 1987, p4A.  Harold C. Fox.  Former Burlington official was milk hauler, farmer.  Burlington - Harold C. Fox, 66, of 2624 11-Mile Road, a former Twp. official, died Tuesday in the Community Health Center of Branch County in Coldwater.  He had been ill seven months and hospitalized three weeks.  He was born in Sherwood Twp. and was a lifelong area resident.  He served as a Burlington Township Trustee from 1970 to 1978.  He was an independent milk hauler for 35 years and also farmed at the 11-Mile Road address.  From 1980 to 1985 he was a delegate to the state meetings of the Michigan Livestock Exchange.  He was a member of the Burlington Men's Club and the Union City United Methodist Church. Surviviing are his wife, the former Ruth Wood; daughters, Rebecca Johnson of Flint and Cindy Troup of Herington, Kan.; sons, Roger Fox of Ada and Ronald Fox of Kalamazoo; three grandchildren; and a brother, Lyman Fox of Burlington.  Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Jenkins Funeral Home, Union City.  Memorial donations may be made to the Union City United Methodist Church or the scholarship fund at Union City High School.

OBITUARY.  Battle Creek Enquirer and News, Tuesday, 31 Mar 1987, p 3B. Burlington - Arlene M. (Fox) Mabus, 63, of 2638 11-Mile Road, Burlington Twp., died Sunday in Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo, where she had been a patient one week.  She was born in Sherwood Township, Branch County, and resided in the Union City and Burlington areas all her life.  She was employed in the dietary department of the Community Health Center of Branch County until retiring in 1984.  She was a member of the Union City Methodist Church and also worked in the church thrift shop.  She was a member of the Union City Senior Citizens Club.  She was preceded in death by her husband, William G. Mabus, in 1979, and a daughter, Linda Mabus Germain, in 1970.  She is survived by brothers, Lyman and Harold Fox, both of Burlington; and two grandchildren.  Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Jenkins Funeral Home in Union City.  Memorial donations may be made to the United Methodist Church or the American Cancer Society.


William G. Mabus

Mabus, 65, of 6968 Q Drive South died Tuesday in Maple Lawn Medical Care Facility, Coldwater, where he had been a patient for one day.  He had been ill one month.  He was born in Battle Creek and was a longtime Union City resident.  He was employed by American Woodcraft  and was engaged in farming until his retirement.  He was a member of the United Methodist Church and the Calhoun County Farm Bureau.  Surviving are his wife, the former Arlene Fox; his father, Guy Mabus of St. Joseph; brothers, Floyd A.  and Clinton M. Mabus, both of Battle Creek, and Lloyd G. Mabus of St. Joseph; sisters, Mrs. Charles (Nola) Shine of St. Joseph and Mrs. Gerald (Wanda) Snyder of Phoenix, AZ, and two grandchildren. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Jenkins Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made to the United Methodist Church of Union City.

Fry Sr., 76, of Battle Creek, died Monday, March 10, 1997 in Lyons Foster Care Home.  He was born June 6, 1920, in Battle Creek to Herman F. and Kathryn A. (Carpenter) Fry and was a lifelong area resident.  He graduated from Battle Creek Central High School in 1938 and served in the U.S. Army.  He was a valve grinder and tool and die worker at Eaton Corp. for 42 years, retiring in 1982.  He also was a meat cutter at Misner Supermarket in Verona.  He was married to the former Helen Mae Raymond for 25 years. She died in July 1972.  He was preceded in death by a brother, Herman Fry.  Surviving are sons, Ronald L. Fisher of Kalamazoo and Glenn F. Fry Jr.; daughters, Karen L. Harris of Elkhart, Ind., and JoAnne K. Reatsnyder of Battle Creek; 15 grandchildren; and 11 grandchildren (must mean 11 great-grandchildren).  Life member and former commander of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8715.  Member of American Legion Post 298 and UAW Local 196.  Enjoyed golfing, coaching and umpiring Little League Baseball in Lakeview and bowling.  Was an avid basefall fan. Services 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Steve Conner officiating.  Burial:  Oak Hill Cem..

At the time of her marriage Helen's name was Helen Fisher.

(Raymond) Fry, 51, of 12504 Perry Road, died Friday in Leila Hospital, where she had been a patient since April.  Mrs. Fry was born in Battle Creek and had lived all her life in the area. She had attended local schools and was a member of the Westlake Presbyterian Church.  She is survived by her husband, Glenn F.; sons, Ronald Fisher of Kalamazoo, and Glenn F. Fry Jr. of 472 Richland Ave.; daughters, Mrs. Robert (Karen) Johnson of 107 Hanson Drive, and Mrs. Harry (JoAnne) Olian of 102 Mosher Ave.; eight grandchildren; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Raymond of St. Petersburg, Fla.; a sister, Mrs. R. J. (Marguerite) Heights of Annandale, VA; and a brother, Wayne Raymond of 10 1/2 Mile Road. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday in the Hebble Chapel.
