OBITUARY. Otsego County Herald Times, Gaylord, MI, Thursday, Sep 16, 1965, p3. Funeral Service Held Sept. 7 For Marjorie Christian. Death came on September 4, 1965, to Marjorie M. Christian, at the Otsego County MemorialHospital. For the past eight years she and her family had lived in Farmington, Michigan, coming to their home on Hart Lake every summer. Mrs. Christian was born 43 years ago in Bendon, Michigan, the daughter of Daniel and Anna Widrig. She graduated from the Gaylord High School and the Detroit Business Institute. On October 5, 1946, she was married to Allen P. Christian, Jr. in Gaylord, and they lived in the Detroit area. She was a member of the Redford Congregation of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Mrs. Christian is survived by her husband, Allen, one daughter, Barbara Rae, and four sons, Allen, Randall and Michael Dan at home, and Norman John Duncan in East Lansing. Other survivors include her mother, Mrs. Anna Henretty, and three sisters, Mrs. Virginia Wiggins of Gaylord; Mrs. Dorothy Bartlett of Southfield; and Mrs. Anna Cooper of Sault Ste. Marie Funeral services were held on Tuesday, September 7, from the Walker Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ted Engle, Jr., in charge. Burial was in Fairview Cem.. Acting as pallbearers were Sam Myers, William Widrig, William Wiggins, James Bartlett, James Cooper and Orley Myers.

OBITUARY. Gaylord Herald Times, Gaylord, MI Thursday, May 21, 1987, p. 11. Allen "Jim" Christian, Jr., 69, died Monday, May 18, at his home near Heart Lake. Mr. Christian was born in Detroit on Dec. 30, 1917. He was a self-employed businessman, operating the Jim Christian Sales for many years. He served in the United States Armed Forces during World War II, and was a resident of Otsego County for the past 20 years. Mr. Christian is survived by his wife, Virginia; four sons, Norman of Arizona, Allen of Lansing, Michael of Plymouth, and Thomas of Florida; one daughter, Barbara, of New Jersey; and 12 grandchildren. Graveside services were held on Wednesday, May 20, at 1 p.m. at Fairview Cem., with Pastor Jon Jenkins officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the North or to the Grace Baptist Church through the Nelson Funeral Home in Gaylord.
