He was born May 10, 1947 in St. Louis, MO, to Melvin L. and Ollene M. (Sult) Eatherton. He was an area resident most of his life, graduating from Hastings High School in 1966. He was employed by Clark Equipment as a fork-lift driver for 18 years before retiring in 1985. He later was employed by Paul Smith Construction. He married Nancy A. Chilton on Sept. 17, 1966, in Battle Creek. She survives. Also surviving are a son, James L. Eatherton II of Battle Creek; daughters, Kimberly D. Mix and Sherry A. Slater, both of Battle Creek; six grandchildren; a brother, Michael Eatherton of Battle Creek; a half-brother, Melvin L. Eatherton of Effingham, IL; a sister, Debra Frame of White Pigeon; and a half-sister, Marita Evans of Charlotte. He was preceded in death by his parents. Frank Wayne "Frankie" Burrows, 39, of Waller, Texas, and formerly of Battle Creek and Delton, died Saturday, Dec. 20, 1997, from injuries suffered in an automobile accident. He was born Jan. 25, 1958 in Battle Creek to Frank D. and Gloria Ann (Eckler) Burrows. He attended Delton Kellogg Schools. He also resided in California and in Houston. He served in the U.S. Navy from Sept. 5, 1975, to Sept. 19, 1977, as a construction electrician constructionman apprentice.
