DEATH 30 NOV 1836 • Pillar Point, Jefferson, New York, USA

Mary Rhodes  1772–1871  <---- The years do not match census data and RevWar data on Mary Bersil.
(both FT pages give different number of children)
FYI:
The FT page ending in 366 claims that Mary Rhodes married a Jacob Brizee (b. ? - 1850)  in 1841. Could this be Bersil instead of Brizee?
But, she married first Phillip Carpenter (1765-1836) on 1 Jan 1790 at her father's house per both FTs.
All citations are questionable FTS, One World Tree and other FTs.

Burial: Viking Cemetery, Viking, Lloydminster Census Division, Alberta, Canada
Memorial #: 114199280
Bio: Lethbridge Herald January 9, 2003 excerpt
WINOGENE MAE CARPENTER of Gardenview Lodge passed away a Lethbridge Regional Hospital on Sunday, December 22, 2002.

Born in Lethbridge AB Oct 19 1909, Winogene was the daughter of the late Chauncey Brandow and Blanche Lord. She completed her public schooling in Lethbridge, then attended Normal School in Calgary in 1927. After a year teaching she went back to the University of Alberta obtaining a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1932. In the early years, she taught school at Diamond City, Nemiscam, and Warden Junction.

Winogene met Bryer Carpenter, CNR Station Agent at Warden Junction, and they were married in July 1934. Most of their married life was at Kinsella, AB from 1937 until Bryer's death in 1965. There they shared in the passion of a small farm while he was the CN Station Agent, and raised their family.

In 1957 Winogene was persuaded to go back to teaching in Viking, AB. After Bryer's death she moved to Viking for a year, then to Edmonton where she taught math at the Correspondence Branch of Alberta Education for eight years before retiring to Lethbridge in 1974. She was an avid quilter at the Seniors' Centre and enjoyed several trips to far corners of the world. Winogene was a life member of the Order of the Eastern Star, United Church Women, and the Lethbridge Senior Citizens Organization.

Winogene was predeceased by her husband Bryer; son and daughter-in-law Bert (Evelyn) Carpenter; infant son James Carpenter; grandchildren Paul and Jill Carpenter; brother Bruce Brandow, and sister Bernice Campbell.
