Newspaper article in Scrapbook at Bristol, Ontario, NY, Town Hall, Book 19, page 159. "The marriage of Carlton George McMillan and Miss Jennie L. Pierce took place at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. & Mrs. R. Melvin Pierce, Cheshire Road, Wednesday afternoon, at 5:30 o'clock. Rev. C. Clarence Baker performed the ceremony in the presence of 80 relatives and friends. The house was profusely decorated with crepe paper and chrysanthemums to carry out the color scheme of yellow and white. The bride wore a gown of white crepe silk trimmed and carried white carnations. Mrs. James E. Haire played the wedding music. Dinner was served following the ceremony. The couple left during the evening for a southern trip after which they will reside on the Holcomb road. The bride's going away gown was blue silvertone with taupe hat. Prenuptial events were a dinner by the employees of the Canandaigua Dry Good Company at the Canandaigua hotel; a variety shower given by Mrs. James K. Haire, and Mrs. Clare Case, at the home of Mrs. Haire; a kitchen shower by Mrs. George Sangster and a variety shower by Mrs. Roy Hurlbutt..
