Bio: Beverly Weinkauf, 53, of Gholson, passed away Saturday, December 3, 2011, at her residence. A memorial service will be 2 p.m., Saturday, December 17, at the First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall in Gholson.

Beverly was born in Waco, Texas, to the late Wilson and Margaret Ann Carpenter Dorris. She was raised in Gholson in rural McLennan County and lived there for most of her life. Beverly loved the outdoors, especially fishing and working in her garden. Her favorite thing was spending time with her family and friends. She worked as a cook for many years. Beverly loved her children very much.

She is survived by her husband, Glen Ely, of Mexia; sons, Charles Merriam, of Loomis, Neb., and Michael Merriam, of Mexia; daughter, Courtney Dorris, of Mexia; brothers, Gene Dorris, and Eddie Dorris and wife, Renee, all of Gholson; sister, Jennifer Herbeck and husband, Ernest McLemore, of Valley Mills; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A lot of the information I received came from Cousin Richard.  He too likes tortoises, rocks and photography.  He has a dog a named Gracie.  Per Donna Kay Carpenter in 1997. (O'Neal? or Oneal???)
