Dorothy Irene Carpenter Shell, 100, of Newton, was a daughter of the late Charles B. Carpenter and Dorothy Wiseman Carpenter.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Herman Carpenter and Orris Carpenter, and one sister, Celeste Abee.
She was a long time member of Highland United Methodist Church in Hickory, was very talented and hardworking, she loved doing crafts and sewing, and when able she enjoyed the Day Action Circle at her church.Entombment in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
