Cline Dickson Carpenter, age 73, of Ridge Court in Morganton passed away on Thursday, April 7, 2011 at his home. Born on December 11, 1937 in Avery County, he was the son of the late Ed and Pansy Carpenter. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He attended the Pineola Church of God and was preceded in death by two brothers; Dewey Carpenter and Claude Carpenter.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife; Mimi Ollis of the home; three daughters; Alisa Magaraci of Mt. Airy, NC; Alana DeMent of Cockeysville, MD; and Donna Gibson of Spruce Pine; two sons; Larry Buchanan of Marion and Jesse Lee Buchanan of Morganton; two brothers; Frank Carpenter of Couch, MO and Brown Carpenter of Charlotte; one sister; Betty Douglas of Amarillo, TX; eight grandchildren; and several great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mr. Carpenter will be conducted on Saturday, April 9, 2011 at 5:00 pm at the Pineola Church of God with the Rev. Joshua Earl officiating. Interment will follow in the Big Meadows Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 3:30 pm until the service hour in the funeral home chapel.

Frances Miller Carpenter, 73, of Hudson passed away Sunday, July 20, 2014, at Caldwell Hospice in Hudson.

Ms. Carpenter was born in Caldwell County to the late Earl B. Miller and Cora Lee Coffey Miller. She was retired from the furniture industry and was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers Bobby and Nolan Miller, and a sister Jean Carpenter.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Floyd Larry Carpenter Jr., MSGT, USAF, Retired of Anderson, S.C., and Roger Dale Carpenter of Broomfield, Colorado; James W. Cline of the home and his children, Charlie Cline and Kim Cline Yarbrough; brothers, Thomas E. Miller and wife Reba of Hudson, and Basil C. Miller and wife Karen of Southport; sisters, Margaret M. Evans of Blacksburg, S.C., and Mary M. Spicer of Lenoir; brother-in-law John D. Carpenter of Baton; numerous nieces and nephews; two grandchildren, Ashley Breanne Carpenter and Shane Ryan Carpenter, both of Springlake; and two great-grandchildren, Mariah Lynn Flores and Naomi Jocelyn Flores.

A funeral service will be held at Mount Zion Baptist Church Saturday, July 26, 2014, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Edd Warren and the Rev. Marvin Ford officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m.

Serving as pallbearers will be Rob Stubblebine, TJ Miller, Tommy Miller, David Evans, Donald Evans and Jeremy Carpenter. Honorary pallbearer will be Jason Carpenter.

The family respectfully requests that memorials be made to Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care, 902 Kirkwood St. NW, Lenoir, NC 28645.

Roger Dale Carpenter, 53 of Broomfield, Colorado passed away on January 27, 2016 at his residence.

Mr. Carpenter was born April 7, 1962 in Harrison County, Mississippi to the late Floyd Larry Carpenter Sr, and Frances Miller Carpenter.

Roger was raised in Hudson, North Carolina and was a graduate of South Caldwell High School; Class of 1980. He then graduated from Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute with an Associates Degree in Radiology . He was a very determined and strong willed individual who truly enjoyed art and purchased many pieces for himself. He was dedicated to his work and loved many different types of music.

Those left to cherish his memory include his only brother, Floyd Larry Carpenter Jr. MSGT. USAF Retired, niece and nephew; Ashley Stubblebine and husband Rob of Lillington, NC, Shane Carpenter of Spring Lake, NC, great nieces and nephews; Mariah and Naomi Flores, Autumn, Liam and Killian Stubblebine. Also left to cherish his memory are numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Moile, Lester and Lambert Carpenter.
Surviving are his wife, Mildred

Mildred "Mid" Singleton Carpenter, 88, of Morganton died Sunday, February 17, 2013 following a period of declining health. Born in Avery County, NC on November 18, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Sam Singleton and Ellafair Moody Singleton. Mid was a long-time member of Trinity Baptist Church. She worked as a nurse's aide at Broughton Hospital for over 20 years and then at Autumn Care of Drexel.

Mid is survived by her daughters, Elaine Crowe and Donna Patton and her husband, Paul; grandsons, Dallas Patton, Dennis Crowe, and Pat Patton, all of Morganton; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Louise Hughes Pittman of Avery County, NC; and a number of nephews and nieces.

In addition to her parents, Mid was preceded in death by her husband, Deater Dallas Carpenter; a son, Kenneth Ray Carpenter; brothers, Rob, Inley, Earl, and Ray Singleton; sisters, Hazel Greene, Bessie Carpenter, Mary Wright, and Edith Love; and a son-in-law, Edward Crowe.

The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at Trinity Baptist Church with the Rev. Scott Moneyham officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
