Subject: Re: Carpenter family history
Hi John
Thanks for responding and I looked over the draft you sent me of descendants of Fannie Weeks. The tree that is described in your draft published in 1884 is the one that my family has. If for any reason, any Carpenters are interested in looking at it - please forward my email address to them and I can send them a picture - in case there is no picture of it in the Carpenter Family in America by Daniel H. Carpenter, 1901. Is there any way to purchase that book? I would like to get a copy. Since William was related to two different lines - did he also do a tree such as the one I have for the other side?
Also wanted to let you know that Louise was adopted. I think Louise was a niece of Fannie's from the research that I have done. Her brother had passed only a few years after Louise was born and it looks like the widow had many children and mouths to support. So I believe Fannie and William took Louise in as they did not have any children of their own. My own assumptions, of course. Louise (Carpenter) Weeks Flewwellin did have three children - Laura Flewwellin as you have noted but also William Francis Flewwellin (my great grandfather) and a Leroy Flewwellin. William Francis Flewwellin was the only one to have issue - Evelyn Cornelia Flewwellin. He married Louise Brown Moseman of Wappingers Falls. They resided in Yorktown Heights, NY. Evelyn went on to marry Earl William Brown and had two sons - William Earl Brown (my father) and Gerald Brown. Most are buried in Amawalk Hill Cemetery. Just thought I would let you know in case you needed it for whatever reason.
If you have any different information about the above besides the draft - please let me know.
Merry Christmas!
Jennifer Brown Anderson
