Cause: of Alzheimer’s diseaseWilma H. Sanderson, 94, of Lexington, formerly of Arapahoe, died Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2004, at Tri-County Hospital in Lexington.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 27, at the First United Methodist Church of Arapahoe. The Rev. Onamae Waddel and Pastor Lana Dake will officiate.
Viewing and visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 26, at Wenburg Funeral Home in Arapahoe and prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in the Oxford Cemetery at Oxford.
Wenburg Funeral Home in Arapahoe is in charge of the arrangements.
She was born in Franklin on Oct. 11, 1910, to George and Hattie (Chitwood) Carpenter.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Newel and Diana Sanderson of Lexington; and one daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Bruce Swan of Weston, Conn.
Other survivors include one granddaughter, Christina Sanderson, of Northridge, Calif.; five step-grandchildren, Brian Schweitzer, of Seward, Laura Schweitzer, of Lincoln, Bruce Swan, Jr. of Fairfield, Conn., Lisa Nikitas, of Redondo Beach, Calif., and Rodney Swan of San Pedro, Calif.; and eight great-grandchildren.
She attended school in Franklin before moving to Edison where she graduated from high school. She then attended the La Du Beauty Academy in Kansas City, Mo., and was one of the first licensees in the State of Nebraska for Beauticians.
She operated a beauty shop in Arapahoe before her marriage to Merlin Sanderson in 1936.
After living in California during World War II, they moved back to Oxford to work with his family on the farm.
After her husband passed away in 1975, she moved to Arapahoe for a number of years before moving to Lexington to be closer to her family, She was a member of the PEO in Arapahoe and the First United Methodist Church in both Oxford and Arapahoe.
Preceding her in death are her parents, her husband, granddaughter Brenda Casteel and 11 brothers and sisters.
Memorials may be given to the United Methodist Church of Arapahoe, or Alzheimer's Foundation.

7664. Emma Lucretia Carpenter

OBIT:
Emma Lucretia, daughter of Henry and Lucretia Carpenter was born in Kankakee County, Buckingham, Ill., June 14, 1881. At the age of two years she with her parents, moved to Franklin County, Nebraska.
In 1901 she was united in marriage to Oscar W. Davis, who preceded her in death June 19, 1940. To this union was born two sons, Clair of Holbrook, Nebraska and Cletis of Washington, D.C.
In 1921 they moved to a farm northeast of Wauneta where they resided until the death of her husband, after which she made her home in Wauneta.
In early life she joined the Congregational church and later transferred the membership to the Methodist church in Wauneta. She was very active in church and social activities, was a charter member of the ocal [sic] chapter of the Eastern Star.
She passed away May 8, 1947 at the age of 65 years, 10 months and 24 days. She leaves to mourn their loss two sons, and their wives, two granddaughters, Esta and Beverly and one great granddaughter Sherilan. Two sisters, Mrs. Ernest Anderson and Mrs. Bert Anderson of Hildreth, Nebraska, two brothers, Bert Carpenter of Omaha, Nebraska and Elvaro Carpenter of McCook, Nebraska, two step sisters Mrs. Frank York of Alliance, Nebraska and Mrs. Arthur Carpenter of Hildreth, Nebraska and a host of other relatives and friends, one sister and two brothers preceded her in death.
She was a devoted wife and mother and dearly love [sic] by all who knew her.
Out of town relatives and friends who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Anderson, Mr. And Mrs. Bert Anderson, Mr. And Mrs. Art Carpenter, Mr. an [sic] Mrs. Murl Anderson and Mr. and Mrs. Meredith Anderson all of Hildreth, Nebraska, Bert Carpenter of Omaha, Mr. and Mrs. Elba Hadley, Sidney, Nebraska, Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Hollenberger, Benkelman, Mr. and Mrs. Marian Sangor of Culbertson, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Carpenter of Arapahoe, Mrs. Frances Carpenter of Bartley, Mr. Everal Carpenter of Bartley. She graduated From High school in 1938 and  continued her education  in Woodbury College, Los Angeles, CAalifornia where she graduated with a business degree in 1939. She died in McCook,Red Willow County,NE. and her Obituary was published  on Tuesday, September 30, 2003 as follows:

Regina "Maxine" Bishop died Sunday, Sept. 14, 2003, at her home in cCook.She was 83 years old.Maxine was born on..March 5, 1920, at Hildreth, to Elvaro Madison and Esther Mabel (Mason) Carpenter. The family moved to Wauneta when she was five years old. She graduated from Wauneta High School in 1938. Shortly after graduation, she traveled by train to Los Angeles, Calif., and attended Woodbury College where she graduated with a business degree in 1939. She returned to Wauneta and was employed by Federal Land Bank and then Wauneta Falls Bank.
On July 9,1944, she married Archie Merle Bishop.
They lived in various locations including a farm south of Hamlet, Denver, Colo. and Flint, Mich., before locating to the McCook community. She was also employed by McCook Community Hospital as a receptionist and worked in the office of the West Sale Barn.
While “Maxine's”  children were young she was involved in helping with 4-H and Rainbow Girls. In her spare time she enjoyed crossword puzzles, sewing, cats, horses, and baby calves. She was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church and Methodist Quilting Group.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Elvaro and Esther Carpenter; and her husband, Archie on Dec. 12, 2002. Survivors include her son, Allan M. Bishop of Fort Smith, Ark.; three daughters, Linda and husband, Gary Williamson, of Spokane, Wash., twin daughters, Margaret Cooper of Tempe, Ariz., and Margery
Bishop and husband, Wilson Wesbrook of Douglas, Kan.; two sisters, Irene Frattasio of Pembroke, Mass. and Colleen and husband, Bill Palmer, of Florence, Ariz.; seven grandchildren and eight greatgrandchildren.
Memorials may be given in her name to the YMCA,McCook Community Hospital Home Health/Hospice or to the givers choice. Funeral Service will be Thursday, Sept. 18, 9:30 a.m., at Carpenter Breland Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Jeff Thurman officiating. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery, Wauneta, at 11:30 a.m. CST.
Visitation will be today until 5 p.m. and Wednesday 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Carpenter Breland Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
She was buried on 18 Sep 2003 in RiversideCemetery, Wauneta, Chase, NE. She was also known as Maxine Regina CARPENTER.Her burial is recorded at “FindaGrave.com.”
