Gary was born Oct 6, 1948, son of Pauline "Polly" Hill Carpenter Ferguson and the late Wilbert Lee Carpenter. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Michael Carpenter.Gary was the husband of Deborah Beck Carpenter.

Mrs. Penny C. Biddix, 46, went home on Saturday the 28th of January, 2017 in Newnan, Ga. She was born in Cabarrus County, NC on July the 19th, 1970. She was a child nutrition assistant with Union County Public Schools. She was preceded in death by her father Mr. Ray Eugene Carpenter, Sr.
She smiled without fear of the future.She is survived by her husband Mr. Edward Biddix of Marshville. Two sons: Mr. Anthony Carpenter and his wife Brye Carpenter and Mr. Christopher Carpenter and his wife Kayla all of Marshville. Her mother Mrs. Dale M. Carpenter of Marshville. Two grandchildren: Lillian Carpenter and Samson Carpenter. Two brothers: Mr. Ray Carpenter Jr., and Terry Carpenter both of Mt. Pleasant, NC.

Yancy Ray Hall, age 40, surrendered his body and released his soul to God. April 9, 2013 at Rowan Regional Hospital.Yancy was born November 8, 1972. In Rowan County. His joy in life was taking care of others, primarily his two boys Matthew and Jordan. He walked with the Lord daily, taking care of the elderly with Davidson Home Solutions of Lexington and the VA Hospital, in Salisbury. Yancy, a member of the APA, mastered the game of pool, winning many trophies and coaching a team which led them to a national championship. He loved the outdoors and making others laugh.Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, April 12, 2013 Sandy Creek Cemetery, Tyro, with Pastor Terry Smith and Rev. Howard Baker officiating. Visitation will be Friday, April 12, from 12:00 – 1:30 at Piedmont Funeral Home.
He was preceded in death by his loving grandmother; Ultra Snider Sowers Badgett; grandfather – Stanley B. Sowers; Aunt, Annie Lee Sowers Freeman; Uncle, John Robert Sowers.
Yancy is survived by his wife, Wendy Carpenter Hall, sons Matthew and Jordan all of the home. His parents Neplus Sowers Hall and Kenneth R. Hall; Grandfather, Gernie Badgett; step-sisters Tara Harrell and Peyton Barnes, and many many loving friends and family members. There will be a family and friends gathering after the service at St. Lukes's Lutheran Church. Donations may be made to St. Luke's Lutheran Church , C/O Matthew Carpenter and Jordan Hall, 4299 South NC Highway 150,Lexington, NC 27295.

Charles "Chick" Ray Carpenter, 57, of Concord went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at home surrounded by family and friends at the time of his death.Chick was born October 10, 1964 in Cabarrus County, NC a son of the late Fred Douglas Carpenter, Sr. and the late Margaret Louise Furr Carpenter. Also preceding him in death was a son, Larry Carpenter.
Chick was a carpenter by trade and was a member of Zion Freewill Baptist Church.
Chick enjoyed life to the fullest, loved spending time with his friends and family and also loved the beach. He had a very open and loving heart. He helped so many and never expected anything in return. He loved his two dogs.
Chick is survived by two sons; four brothers; four sisters; one granddaugter and two fur babies, Little Bit and Sadie. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be 4:00 P.M. Tuesday, February 22,2022 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Sarah Jean Tucker. Interment will follow in Zion Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:30 P.M.-4:00 P.M. prior to the service.
The family request that in lieu of flowers donations be sent to Whitley's Funeral Home to be applied to funeral expenses.
