Wm E. "Bill" HolmesDad was born in Spokane in the summer of 1915, but adopted and celebrated that day, October 28 as a birthday, too. Harry and Myrtle Holmes were great parents; I was with him and saw his grief at the memorials for both of them.
With his parents and sisters Harriet and Ruth, they settled near Gresham Oregon during his school days. The Great Depression interrupted his college education, but he was well-read and that benefited him his entire life. He was married to several women; my mother was his third wife, and I know but little of his earlier brides. Elder half brother Bob I knew very little, and half sister Annie I knew better when I was very small. My step mother Lillian Bjur was a wonderful woman, and I miss her too. RIP, Dad.
