He is survived by his wife, Frances; daughter, Cheri (Bob) Myers, Ruth (Ron) Norris and Linda (Larry) Varichione; sons: Charles White and Kenneth Carpenter; daughter-in-Iaw, Jill Carpenter; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his sons: Steven and Scott Carpenter; one daughter, Julie; and grandson, Stevie; also parents, George and Jenny Carpenter; brothers: Richard, Hershel, Leroy, George and Robert Carpenter. Visitation will take place Monday, March 25, 2013, from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Burns-Kish Funeral Home, 8415 Calumet Ave., Munster. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 26 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Shannon Stringer officiating. Burial will take place at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens in Schererville. Mr. Carpenter was retired from American Maize (Cargill). He was an U.S. Air Force Veteran, who served in theKorean Conflict. He was a member of the VFW Post 717, American Legion Post 108, and Voiture 40-8490. He was a longtime friend of Dr. Bob and Bill W. Dana Imogene Harris Carpenter was born April 10, 1917 in Ellsworth, Logan County, Arkansas to Thomas Jefferson and Isabella Howard Harris. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie M. Carpenter, her parents, three brothers, Charles, Howard, and Clarence Harris; three sisters, Eutha Welch, Freda Stender, and Juanita Corley. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Reverend Tommy Royce and Nelma Carpenter of Little Rock, three grandchildren, Dana Sue and husband, Reverend Martin Harden of Patterson, Louisiana, Reverends Thomas & Angelia Carpenter of Little Rock, and Reverend Charles (Ched) and Leah Carpenter of Farmington, Arkansas. One sister, Hazel Fite of Fair Oaks, California. She was delightfully proud of her ten great-grandchildren; Brandon, Raigan, Austin and Keatyn Harden, Jenel, Alexa, Aaron, Isabella, Chase and Cami Carpenter. She was a charter member of Faith Assembly of God in Fort Smith and was active until her recent illness. Her family will receive guests from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM this Tuesday evening, October 2, 2007 at Fentress Mortuary. The memorial service will be 10:00 AM Wednesday morning, October 3, 2007 at Faith Assembly of God, 50th and O Streets in Fort Smith. At 2:00 PM a graveside service will be held at the Oakwood Cemetery in Paris, Arkansas. Pastor Cary Moore and Tommy R. Carpenter will conduct the services. Pallbearers will be Thomas Carpenter, Ched Carpenter, Marty Harden, Brandon Harden, Greg Newborn, and Chip Corley. Honorary Pallbearers will be Austin Harden, Aaron Carpenter, and Chase Carpenter.
