Funeral services for Mr. Carpenter will be held on Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at 10:00 AM in the Southern Funeral Home Chapel with Brandon James and Richard James officiating. Interment will follow in the Bethlehem Cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield. Friends may visit with the family in the funeral home on Monday from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 8:00 a.m. until time of services.
Serving the family as pallbearers will be Ken Carpenter, Adam Gray, Josh Shumake, Jacob Shumake, Raymond Andrews, Brandon James, James Shumake (Hon.), and Vincent Worley (Hon.). The family requests that memorial donations be made to the Bethlehem Cemetery Fund. (source: Southern Funeral Home)

Don Carpenter, 54, of Clinton, died Friday, February 27, 2015. Visitation will be on Monday from 5 to 7 pm at Wright and Ferguson in Clinton. Funeral services will be on Tuesday at Northside Baptist Church beginning at 11:00 am preceded by one hour of visitation. Burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Park.
Don was born in New Orleans on September 1, 1960 and 6 weeks later he was adopted by N. W. and Dorothy Carpenter. He was raised and lived most of his life in Clinton where he attended the Clinton Public Schools. He graduated from North West Community College with an associate degree in mortuary science and he served the Vicksburg and Jackson areas with several different funeral homes. After leaving funeral service, he continued using his customer service skills at different customer based businesses.
He was a member of Northside Baptist Church, a member of the Sons of the Confederacy in Brandon, and he was a civil war reenactor with the Mississippi Stanford Battery.
Don was preceded in death by his mother, he is survived by his wife, Lacy M. Carpenter; his daughter, Ashley Shaffer and her husband Anthony; his granddaughter, Molly Shaffer; and his father, Nollie Wilbur Carpenter, Jr.

Mrs. Jones was born in Jackson and was a longtime resident of Clinton. She graduated from Clinton High School in 1975 and went on to earn a degree in real estate and insurance at the University of Southern Mississippi. She worked for Entergy for the past nine years as an analyst. She was a member of Morrison Heights Baptist Church, where she was involved in the couple's Sunday school class.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Maj. Doug Wade Jones.
She is survived by her daughter, Hannah Leigh Jones of Clinton; her parents, Ray W. and Dorothy Boyd Carpenter of Clinton; and two sisters, Deborah Jean Carpenter of Vicksburg and Penny Raye Carpenter of Clinton.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Morrison Heights Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 today at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home in Clinton and will resume at 10 a.m. Monday at the church

Joseph Earl "Bill" Carpenter, 80, was called to Heaven for a peaceful rest on August 12, 2010. Bill was born and raised in Milton, FL.
Bill was a beloved Pa Pa, devoted to paying his tithes and was a good Christian man. He served in the Army during the Korean War. Bill was a general contractor and he was a loyal and trusted friend to so many people. Bill was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and Pa Pa.
He is survived by his wife, Vernie Carpenter; son, Roger Carpenter (Dottie Parker); step-sons, Frank and Scott Brobst, Donnie Douglas; grandchildren, Melissa Copeland, Randy Hardy, Sheresa Copeland, Rocky Copeland, Kelly Copeland, Sierra Parker, Bonnie Parker, JoJo Parker; two sisters, Vashiti Henderson and Tommy Thompson.
Special thanks to his friend, Marie Wombles, and long time family member, Diane Copeland, who assisted him during his long illness.
Pa Pa you will be loved and missed and will you will always be in the hearts.

Bennie A. Carpenter, age 81, went to join his Heavenly Father on Thursday, October 9, 2008. Ben was born on February 21, 1927 in Milton, FL to Ab and Alice Carpenter. He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepdad, Milton Hunter; his wife of forty one years, Della Jean Carpenter; his son, Stephen Carpenter; and his stepson, Dale Ray Gibbs.
Ben's life was filled with many adventures. He joined the Navy in 1944 and was privileged to observe the Surrender Ceremonies in Tokyo Harbor in 1945. After the war was over, he enlisted in the Army Air Force and later, the United States Air Force from which he retired after twenty one years in the military. He enjoyed his military life where for the last fifteen years he worked on B47s and B52s.
After his retirement, he entered the Civil Service where he formed many friendships.
He retired again in 1983 and developed many hobbies. He enjoyed fishing, golfing and traveling.
Ben was a faithful member of East Brent Baptist Church and a member of Chuck Bragg's Sunday School Class.
He leaves behind his precious second wife, Leona (Lee); his son, Eddie; a stepson, David Gibbs; step daughter, Debra Watts; six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren; his dogs, Beckie and Buddie; many friends, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be Monday, October 13, 2008. Interment will follow in Bayview Memorial Park.
