Pansy Carpenter married Edward McCoy Carpenter.

On January 24, 1941, Pyatte, Avery County, N.C., Pansy Lee Carpenter Carpenter, still married, died at the age of 39.

Edward McCoy Carpenter married Pansy Lee Carpenter; he served in W W I.

A possible brother of Edward McCoy Carpenter was Arbie Carpenter and a sister was Nellie Carpenter Taylor.

On April 23, 1949, Spruce Pine, Mitchell Co., N.C., Edward McCoy Carpenter, a widower, died at the age of 56, from cancer.

Lemuel Arthur Carpenter 87, of the Plumtree Community died Wednesday, July 13, 2005 in the Spruce Pine Community Hospital.
Son of the late Brownlow and Mary Isaacs Carpenter he worked as a nurse for Broughton Hospital and was a member of the Burleson Chapel Freewill Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Vinnielee Ellen Carpenter, sisters Opal Johnson and Donnie Johnson and one brother Miles Carpenter.

Survivors include sons Arthur Wayne Carpenter of Plumtree and Milas B. Carpenter of Hickory and a daughter Martha Thomas of Burnsville. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren and two great-great- grandchildren.

Interment will follow in the Elk Mountain Cemetery.

Mrs. Vinniel Ellen Carpenter, age 83 of the Plumtree community, died Monday, September 6, 2004 in the Brian Center in Spruce Pine.

Native of Bristol TN but spent most of her life in Avery County, she was the daughter of the late W.W. Wood and Lottie Framer Wood, she worked for the Tar Hill Mica Company for 30 years and was a member of the Burleson Chapel Freewill Baptist Church on Henson Creek.

Survivors of Mrs. Carpenter include, husband, Lemuel A. Carpenter of the home, sons, Arthur Wayne Carpenter of Plumtree and Milan B. Carpenter of Hickory, daughter, Martha Thomas of Burnsville, sisters, Lucy Sparks of Newland, Gladys Arnold of Bristol TN, Christian Brewer of Bristol TN and Nell Tabor of Bristol, TN , and brother, Jack Wood of Bristol TN. Also survived by eleven grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Interment will follow in the Little Elk Mountain Cemetery.

Elizabeth Grindstaff Daniels, age 80, of Newland, North Carolina passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at her home.

She was born on May 2, 1939 in Avery County, North Carolina, a daughter of the late Wash Grindstaff and the late America Carpenter Grindstaff.

Lib was a member of the Pineola Baptist Church where she had served in the choir and as the Church Treasurer. She enjoyed gardening and canning. She was a devoted wife, mama and grandmother who enjoyed cooking for her family and especially for her grandchildren. She retired from Baxter.

She was preceded in death by her Father, Wash Grindstaff; Mother, America Grindstaff.
