MARRIAGE:
First Branch
Sarah and Joseph Carpenter
of Exeter Monthly Meeting, PA
Sarah Lundy married Joseph Carpenter. Declarations of their intentions to marry were made before the Kingwood Monthly Meeting on 8 of 9 mo., and 13 of 10 mo., 1768. On 10 of 6 mo., 1773, Joseph Carpenter for himself and his wife and children requested from the Kingwood M. M. a certificate of membership to the Exeter Monthly Meeting in Pennsylvania. No further record.

FAMILY:
U.S., Quaker Meeting Records, 1681-1935, page 38 shows family of sons Joseph and John with birth and some death records and spouses as known. Joseph and John Carpenter are sons of Samuel & Elizabeth (Willson) Carpenter per image.
See under MISC PICS: RIN 12674 Joseph Carpenter QMR1681-1935
Joseph (1745-1813 no month or days cited) is cited as of several Meeting places and who he married with her parents name. The death column on page 39 far right indicates "cer 1813 Missing". Normal citation indicates cer as certainly. This means there is high confidence he did die in 1813 but the actual date is missing.  It appears this image page is an effort to compile into one record information. Similar to a bio index.

BOOK:
History of Lycoming County, Pennsylvania : including its aboriginal history; the colonial and revolutionary periods; early settlement and subsequent growth; organization and civil administration; the legal and medical professions; internal improvements, past and present history of Williamsport, manufacturing and lumber interests, religious, educational, and social development, geology and agriculture, military record, sketches of boroughs, townships, and villages, portraits and biographies of pioneers and representative citizens, etc., etc. by Meginness, John F. (John Franklin), 1827-1899
** The pdf version of this book cites 198 "Carpenter" hits. On page 84 or 7/198 it cites the original settlers of Muncy township. Several of them were conspicuous participants in the stirring times of that
period, and their names frequently occur in history, but the majority at this lapse of time are unknown. The following list embraces the names of all who were bona fide settlers in 1774, when it was returned by the assessor to the commissioners at Sunbury:  That includes Joseph Carpenter and John Carpenter.
