Mary Luella Carpenter Eplee Hancock, 76, of Richmond, passed away Saturday, June 30, 2012 at the Hospice Compassionate Care Center of Richmond.
She was born April 24, 1936, at Battle Creek, Michigan, to Earl S. and Celia Weeks Carpenter, both of who preceded her in death. She and her husband were owners and operators of Tates Creek Market in Richmond, for 21 years and she had been a member of Madison County Homemakers Club.
In addition to her loving husband, John David Hancock, she is survived by her children, Karen Boardman (Robert) of Richmond, Sharon Gaskins (Jeff) of Niceville, Florida, Judy Hancock of Richmond, Herbert Eplee Jr. (Susie) of Spartanburg, South Carolina, Kelly Eplee (Susan) of Charlottesville, Virginia, and Glenn Eplee of Charlotte, North Carolina.
Also surviving are her grandchildren, Kelsey Hamilton, Jaryn Davidson, Kristen Edgins (Joey), Kari Bailey (Matt), Rachael Eplee, Annie Eplee, Christopher Eplee, Ryan Eplee, Taylor McIntyre, Jared Drum, Jessie Rayburn (Josh), Robert Boardman, and Megean Applegate (David).
She also leaves four great grandchildren, Aiden Rayburn, Shade Rayburn, Zander Boardman and Jaxon Applegate.
Services for Mrs. Hancock will be at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home, with her son, Herbert Eplee, Jr., officiating. Burial will follow at the Richmond Cemetery.

John David Hancock, 86, of Richmond, passed away Tuesday, October 22, 2013, at the Hospice Compassionate Care Center of Richmond.
He was born December 23, 1926, in Ashland, Kentucky, to George Jefferson Sr. and Celestia Mable (Dye) Hancock, both of whom preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Luella (Carpenter) Eplee Hancock.
He and his wife, Mary, owned and operated Tates Creek Market for over 30 years. He was a WWII U. S. Marine Corp veteran and had a great love for flying his airplane and spending time and working outdoors. Dave loved creating a humorous environment, making people laugh, and being of service to others. He enjoyed dancing and attributed his longevity to always staying active.
Survivors include three daughters, Karen Boardman and husband Robert of Richmond, Sharon Gaskins and husband Jeff of Niceville, Florida, and Judy Hancock of Richmond; three step-sons, Herbert Eplee Jr. and wife Susie of Spartanburg, South Carolina, Kelly Eplee and wife Susan of Charlottesville, Virginia and Glenn Eplee of Charlotte, North Carolina; and one sister Mary Jo Carlsen.
Also surviving are his grandchildren, Kelsey Hamilton, Jaryn Davidson, Kristen Edgins (Joey), Kari Bailey (Matt), Rachael Eplee, Annie Eplee, Christopher Eplee, Ryan Eplee, Taylor McIntyre, and Jared Drum.

Pallbearers will be Robert Boardman, Jeffrey Gaskins, Herb Eplee, Kelly Eplee, Greg Warner and Nick Kendall. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Cox, Jim Gerhardt and Jesse Short.

John, age 78, passed away at St. Mary's Hospital in Saginaw. John was born July 16, 1933 on the family farmstead near Caro, the son of the late Pearl & Elizabeth (Middleton) Carpenter and was a lifelong area resident.
Following his service in the Army during the Korean Conflict, John returned home and began his employment with the Village of Caro, retiring in 1995.
John was united in marriage with the former Edith Tadlock in January of 1956 in Caro and cherished more than fifty-four years with her, caring for twelve children, before the death of Edith on May 14, 2010.
During John's free time, he enjoyed hunting and working on cars.
Surviving John are eleven children and their spouses, Art & Donna Brinkman of Grayling, Sue Ann Brinkman of Caro, Judy Brinkman of Flint, Danny Lee Croson of Mayville, Joyce & Tim German of Caro, Robert Carpenter of Caseville, Johnnie & Dawn Carpenter of Caro, Betty Johns of Orlando, Florida, Jim Smutek of Vassar, Danny & Jessica Carpenter of Clio, Donny Carpenter of Bay City; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, Edith, John was preceded in death by one son, Stanley Brinkman.
A Memorial Service was held Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at the Ellington Nazarene Church with Rev. Ron Comfort officiating. Private burial services with military honors provided by the Caro VFW Post #4164 and the U.S. Army were held on Monday.

Edith, 79, of Caro, passed away surrounded by the love of her family on Friday, at Select Specialty Hospital in Saginaw. Edith was born the daughter of the late Samuel and Allie (Byum) Tadlock.

She was united in marriage to John R. Carpenter in January of 1956, and the couple has cherished more than fifty-four years together. Edith found her life's work in caring for twelve children, running her home and still managing to find time to care for a variety of family pets. She will be remembered as a good southern woman that enjoyed gardening, fishing and going to garage sales. Prior to her illness, she faithfully attended the Harvest Baptist Church in Akron.

Edith is survived by her husband, John Carpenter of Caro; eleven children and their spouses, Art & Donna Brinkman of Grayling, Sue Ann Brinkman of Caro, Judy Brinkman of Flint, Danny Lee Croson of Mayville, Joyce & Tim German of Caro, Robert Carpenter of Ubly, Johnnie & Dawn Carpenter of Caro, Betty Johns of Orlando, Florida, Jim Smutek of Vassar, Danny & Jessica Carpenter of Clio and Donny & Adrian Carpenter of Bay City; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Edith was preceded in death by one son, Stanley Brinkman.
Ransford Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Service was at Ellington Church of the Nazarene.

Richard L. "Dick" Carpenter died Friday, March 30, 2012, in Owasso, at the age of 66.

Dick was born Aug. 7, 1945, in Grand Rapids, Minn., to Wesley Frank and Vivian Ethel (Mohler) Carpenter.

Dick married Lois Ann Jackson on March 3, 1990 in Burlington, Kan.

He spent most of his working life as a quality control inspector.  Dick enjoyed a variety of pastimes including deer hunting, fishing in Minnesota and big game hunting in South Africa. He was an avid fan of sprint car racing and the World of Outlaws.

For many years he was an active volunteer at the Minnesota State Fair working at the Midway Men's Club stand, and he never missed the Chili Bowl races in Tulsa.

Some of his greatest joys in life were his grandchildren and his dog Meko.

He was preceded in death by his son, Paul Douglas Carpenter, and his parents.

Loving family members include his wife; Lois, of the home; children, Gary Carpenter and wife, Rose, of Isanti, Minn., Scott Jackson and wife, Dawn, of Talala, Carrie (Carpenter) Kramer and husband, Jim, of Frankfort, Ill., Conni (Jackson) Bemis and husband, Todd, of Burlington, and Toni (Jackson) Peterson and husband, Gene, of Inman, Kan.; 17 grandchildren; siblings, Peg Nix and husband, Den, Sue Carpenter, and Terry Carpenter and wife, Connie, all of Cohasset, Minn.; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and co-workers all around the world.

Visitation was from 9-11 a.m. Tuesday, April 3, 2012, with funeral services beginning at 11 a.m. at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso.

Pastor Kevin Laufer served as officiating minister.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to The Richard L "Dick" Carpenter Memorial Fund at c/o Bank of Oklahoma, 11815 East 86th Street North, Owasso, Oklahoma, 74055.  Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.

Donald G. Scheeder, 77, of Delaware died Monday, Oct. 7, 2002, at Grady
Memorial Hospital.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps, serving from 1943 to 1946
as a B-29 crew member. A former PPG truck driver, he retired as a driver
for ODOT in 1991. He was a private pilot, an avid fan of auto racing, an
amateur photographer and an antique camera collector.
He was born June 9, 1925, in Huntingdon, Pa., to the late Marshal and
Helen Harbaugh Scheeder and was predeceased by a sister, Charlotte and a
daughter, Nancy.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Betty McNeal Scheeder; a son,
Larry (Linda) Scheeder of Delaware; a daughter, Susan (Doug) McBride of
Delaware; a grandson, Ryan; many relatives and friends; and his favorite
cat, Pedro.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Bennett Brown
Rodman Funeral Home in Delaware and burial will be at Oak Grove
Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
Honorary pall bearers will be Chris Fogle, Rob Fogle, Glenn Hursey, Bill
Yoakum, Paul Yoakum and Billy Simpson.
