She married J. C. Baker, Jr. on May 13, 1939, and he passed away July 22, 1989.
Mildred had been a School teacher, and taught first grade for 25 years in Roswell. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Roswell, and was a Ladies Sunday School Teacher. She loved to play bridge, and was Past President of the Duplicate Bridge Club .

Gladys M. Anderson of Ector passed away on Thursday, November 17, 2011 at the Bonham Nursing Center. She was a Homemaker and helped her family on the farm. She attended Gober schools and was a member of the Ector United Methodist Church.Mrs. Anderson was born October 14, 1923 in Gober, Texas to parents Gaines Wheeler and Myrtie (Carpenter) Wheeler. She married Bedford Glyn Anderson who preceded her in death. She is survived by son, Steve Anderson and his wife Pat of Cannon, Texas; daughter, Glynna Case of Talco, Texas; seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and three sisters.
Services for Mrs. Anderson will be at 2:00 P.M. Monday, November 21, 2011 at the Ector United Methodist Church with interment at Carson Cemetery, Ector. Conducting the service will be the Reverend Dee Morton and the Reverend John Wade. The family will greet friends at Mullican-Little Funeral Home in Bells/Savoy from 2-4:00 P.M., Sunday, November 20, 2011.

THE PARIS NEWS, MAY 6, 2011, PAGE 3A. - James O. Carpenter, 76, of Paris, passed away Wednesday, May 4, 2011, at Paris Regional Medical Center. Bright-Holland Funeral Home has secheduled memorial services for 4 p.m. Saturday, May 7, at Covenant Christian Church with Dr. Stephen Russell and the Rev. Diana Russell officiating.The son of Pearl Edward and Jewel Irene Carpenter, he was born Sept. 22, 1934, in Tulip. He served in the U. S. Coast Guard and owned and operated grocery stores in Louisiana. Later he owned and operated a restaurant in Bonham and a barbecue stand in Honey Grove. He was an active member of Covenant Christian Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents and four siblings, Homer Lee Carpenter, Mary June Carpenter, Susie Keller and Jack Edward Carpenter.Survivors include his wife, Katherine Kelly Carpenter, who he married on June 11, 1990; two children, Tana Gilder and husband, Charles, of Dial and Jamie Ferguson of Honey Grove; three hrandchildren, Nathan Lyday Ferguson, Natalie Gail Ferguson and Lola Lyday Gilder; three sisters, Louise Partridge of Denison, Patsy Christian and husband, Buddy, of Oakdale, La., and Kaye Skinner and husband, Lee of Lamasco; and several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
