Mrs. Burgess passed away September 18, 2012, in Marshall. Funeral services for Anna Vee Burgess, 89, of Marshall will be held Friday, September 21, 2012 at Friendship Baptist Church with Bro. Ron Segers and Bro. Matt Paul officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday, September 20, 2012 at Downs Funeral Home. Burial will be in Gill Cemetery.
Mrs. Aaron V. Burgess was born Anna Vee Taylor on September 10, 1923 in Harrison County, the third born of six children of George Albert and Mary Elizabeth Craver Taylor. She married at 16 and had her children at the age of 18 and 20. She married Dean Carpenter and he preceded her in death in April of 1970. Mrs. Burgess then married Aaron Burgess on December 28, 1973. She worked with her husband at ABC Business Machines and retired in 1999. Mrs. Burgess was a member of Friendship Baptist church and the V.I.P. Sunday School Class.
Mrs. Burgess is survived by her husband, Aaron Thomas Burgess of Marshall; one son, Ron Carpenter; one daughter, Wanda Cave; step-children, Larry James Burgess and Nancy Reeve; 6 grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren; and brothers, Jerry Taylor of and G.A. Taylor.
