Heart Attack Fatal To Lucius CarpenterLucius Carpenter, 74. died of a heart attack shortly after midnight this morning at his home in Holcomib.
Funeral services will be conducted from Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. tomorrow. Rev. F. W. Ray will, officiate.
He is survived by his widow; two sons, Russell of Greenwood and Felton of Memphis ; three daughters, Mrs. Lena Minyard, Greenwood, Mrs. Robbie Marascalco, Grenada, and Mrs. Mary Nell Cleveland of Leland. Also surviving are three brothers; Clyde of Greenwood, Johnnie of Carrollton and Chalmus of Lake Village, Ark., and 11 grandchildren.
Garner Funeral Home of Grenada is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Nena (sp) Carpenter died January 25 at the Greenwood Leflore Hospital. Services were held Monday at Friendship with Rev. B. R. Ware officiating. Burial was under the direction of Lee Funeral Home.
Mrs. Carpenter was born in Carroll County, December 9, 1910, and was married to Russell Carpenter of Greenwood who survives.
Other survivors include two daughters, Miss Linda Carpenter and Miss Glenda Carpenter of Greenwood; her mother Mrs. Ellen Minyard of Greenwood; four sisters, Mrs. Maggi Cheek, Mrs. Wilma McDanial Mrs. Bernice Gamble and Mrs. Louise Cheek all of Greenwood; five brothers, Dorris Minyard and Claton Minyard of Greenwood, Emmett Minyard, McCarley, Albert Minyard and Kenneth Minyard of Carrollton.

Mrs. Mildred Carpenter Bankston, 80, of Greenwood, died of heart failure Nov. 4, 2001 at Greenwood LeFlore Hospital in Greenwood.
Born in Carroll County, she was a lifelong resident of Greenwood where she was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Greenwood, the Greenwood Women's Club, and the Does Club.
A homemaker, she was preceded in death by her husband, A. W. Bankston and her parents, Myrtle Shelton and Clyde Carpenter.
Funeral services were held at Wilson & Knight Chapel November 6 with Rev. F. Wilson Ray and Rev. Glenn Seefeld officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery in North Carrollton.Mrs. Bankston is survived by one son, Van A. Bankston of Carrollton; one daughter and son-in-law, Jo Marsha and Steve Oswalt of Moorhead; three grandchildren, Christopher A. Journeay of Conway, AR., Kim and Harper Ross of Cruger, Miranda and Jon Calder of Herndon, VA. and two great-granchildren, Jack Andrew Calder of Herndon, and Josua Jorneay of Greenville.
Pallbearers were Steve Goodwin, Kenny Matthews, Ray Vail, John Bush, Hiram Eatland, and Tommy Reifers. Honorary pallbearers were Doug Avant, Jimmy Carpenter, Cliff Martin, and Don Welch.
Wilson & Knight Funeral Home of Greenwood was in charge of the arrangements.

Arthur Waymon "A.W." Bankston, 74, of Greenwood, died of heart failure Tuesday, October 31, 1995. Mr. Bankston was DOA at Greenwood Leflore Hospital Emergency Room.
Funeral services were held Thursday, November 2, at 2 p.m. at Wilson & Knight Chapel with the Rev. Grady Bailey officiating assisted by the Rev. F. Wilson Ray.
Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery in North Carrollton.
Mr. Bankston was born and raised in Carroll County. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, resident of Greenwood for about 50 years, a member of Greenwood Masonic Lodge and Shriners, veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II, a member of the Elks Club and was a past Exalted Ruler of the Elks Club.
Mr. Bankston was a graduate of J.Z. George High School in Carrollton and the retired owner of Salvage Yard & Used Cars.
He and Mrs. Bankston were married for 54 years this past April.
Survivors are his wife, Mildred C. Bankston of Greenwood; one daughter, Jo Marsha Bankston Mosley of Moorhead; one son, Van Allan Bankston of Carrollton; three grandchildren, Christopher Andrew Journeay of Greenville, Kimberly Michelle Journeay of Miss. State, and Miranda Leigh Journeay of Wash-ington, D.C.; one great grandchild, Joshua Chance Journeay; and two sisters, Mary Morgan of Jonesboro, Arkansas.
Memorials may be made to the Shriners Childrens' Hospital.Wilson & Knight Funeral Home in Greenwood was in charge of arrangements.

Last rites for Johnnie E. Carpenter were held Saturay, July 27, at 11 a.m. at the Enon Methodist Church.

Mr. Carpenter, who was 77 years old, died July 25.
He was a native of Carroll County and a member of the Enon Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lula Mae Ware Carpenter, Carrollton; three children, Burnice Carpenter, Leland; Giles Carpenter, Southhaven; and Mrs. Juanita Martin, Greenwood; a brother, Chalmers Carpenter, Lake Village, Arkansas; and six grandchildren.

Lois Juanita Carpenter Martin, “Nita,” 92, died Saturday August 15, 2015 at Broadway Healthcare Center in West Memphis, Arkansas.She was born March 26, 1923 in Bolivar County, MS. She was the daughter of Johnnie Emmett Carpenter and Lula Mae Ware Carpenter. She attended school in Carroll County, MS and moved to Greenwood MS in 1943. She was employed at Wyler’s Jewelry Store until 1953. She sold Avon products and worked for Surman and Harmon out of Memphis, TN until she retired in 1988.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 54 years, Roland Clifford Martin, one older brother, William Bernie Carpenter, and one younger brother, Jiles Thomas Carpenter.
She is survived by her son Johnnie Roland Martin, “John,” and his wife, Cynthia Ann Larsen Martin, “Cindy,” of Memphis, TN and Cleburne County, AR, a sister-in-law, Mary Gladys Carpenter of Carroll County, MS, seven nephews and four nieces.
She was a devout Methodist, attending Enon United Methodist Church until joining St. John’s United Methodist Church shortly after its inception.
Visitation will be held at Wilson and Knight Funeral home Tuesday August 18 from 9:00 until 10:30 a.m. A graveside memorial service will be held at Enon United Methodist Church at 11:00 a.m.

Bio:
Kenney Ray Carpenter, 77, of Hamburg died Tuesday, April 14, 2009, at the Ashley County Medical Center in Crossett.A native of Drew County and a resident of Hamburg for the past 51 years, he was a Korean War veteran of the United States Army. He retired from Georgia-Pacific's paper mill in 1994 after 41 years of service and was a member of the Southside Baptist Church. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Survivors include his wife, Bobbie Sue Pullin Carpenter; two daughters, Marilyn Spurlock and Teresa Savage, all of Hamburg; two sons, Herbert Ray Carpenter of Hamburg and Travis Judkins of Pueblo, Colorado; three brothers, Mershal D. Carpenter of Crossett and Jimmy C. & Billy Randell Carpenter, both of Fountain Hill; nine grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Evelyn Graves Carpenter, in 1984; a son, Michael Ray Carpenter; an infant daughter, his parents, Marshal & Esther A. Carpenter; two brothers, Garland Carpenter in 2000 and Rev. Ronnie Carpenter in 2001; and a sister, Clotene Carpenter in 1947.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m., Friday, April 17, in the Southside Baptist Church with Revs. Charles Pullin and David Williams officiating. Burial followed at the Prairie Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jim Wells, Ryan Carpenter, Randell Wade Carpenter, Mark Bowden, Danny Lloyd, Butch Hill, Fred Hollis and Wayne Graves. Honorary pallbearers were the members of the Southside Baptist Church Adult Sunday School Class and Robert Maxwell.
Memorials may be made to the Southside Baptist Church Building Fund, 1508 Highway 425 South, Hamburg, AR 71646 or to the Prairie Grove Cemetery Association, c/o Kim Bowden, 905 Goose Hollow Road, Monticello, AR 71655.

Mrs. Bobbie Sue Carpenter, 83, of Hamburg, died Thursday, January 8, 2015 at the Parkview Medical Center in Pueblo, Colorado. Mrs. Carpenter was a native of Kilbourne, Louisiana; a resident of Pueblo for four years and a resident of Hamburg for the over 60 years. She worked at the Hamburg Shirt Factory for 30 years. She was a member of the Fellowship of the Rockies in Pueblo; a former member of Southside Baptist Church and Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Hamburg. She loved her grandkids and great-grandkids.She is preceded in death by her husbands, McCoy Judkins in 1974 and Kenney Ray Carpenter in 2009; her parents, Van & Nora Belle Gatlin Pullin four sisters, Vera Rice, Helen Guin, Mary Bernice Dill and Mary Elizabeth Kinney and three brothers, Van Pullin, Jr., James Howard Pullin and Rev. Charles H. Pullin.
She is survived by a son, Travis Judkins and wife, Diana, of Pueblo, Colorado; a step-son, Herbert Ray Carpenter of Hamburg; two step-daughters, Marilyn Spurlock and Teresa Savage both of Hamburg; a brother, Ralph Pullin of Warren; 3 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, 8 step-grandchildren and 15 step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are 10 a.m., Friday, January 16, 2015 in the Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Travis Judkins officiating. Burial will be in the Snyder Cemetery.
Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home
