Mrs. Charles (Joyce Faye) Ferrell, Sr., died at her home at 605 Hopkins Street in Yoakum at 6:45 p.m. Friday and services were held Sunday at 2 p.m. from Yoakum Buffington Funeral Home with Rev. W. W. Connally officiating. Burial was in the Gonzales City cemetery.
Mrs. Ferrell was born in San Antonio April 5, 1921, the daughter of Harvey and Bertha Caraway Carpenter. She was married to Charles L. Ferrell, Sr., who died March 15, 1979. She was a member of the First Baptist church of Yoakum.
Survivors include one son, Charles L. Ferrell, Jr., of Yoakum; one daughter, Mrs. Glenda Freed of Texas'; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; five brothers, Olive Carpenter of Oklahoma, City, Okla., Felton of Corpus Christi, Emmet Lee of San Angelo, Billy of Odom and Bobby Carpenter, of Houston; two sisters, Mrs. Mildred Bratton of Yoakum and Mrs. Peggy Lindsey of Port Comfort.
