PURKISS, STELLA M., of Winter Garden passed away on Tuesday, October 10, 2006. She was 97. Stella was born in Cleveland, Ohio on April 30, 1909 and moved to Central Florida in 1973 from Pontiac, Michigan. She loved to stay active and enjoyed bowling and playing golf and pinochle. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, Gwendell, her son, Theodore, and her daughter, Gwendolyn. She is survived by her six grandchildren, Eileen Tayloe (William), Clifford Walter, Ruthanne Rejc (James), Lynn Mantis (Nick), Todd Purkiss (Amy), and Tamara Chapman (Kent), as well has her six great grandchildren: Ria, Vikki, Nikki, Logan, Carter, and Mason. Interment was at Highland Memory Gardens. Arrangements were in the care of Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home, Apopka Chapel.Published in the Orlando Sentinel on Oct. 12, 2006

Jamie Samuel Dack of McCook, NE passed away at home on Saturday, March 3, 2018, at the age of 63.
Jamie was born on January 30, 1955 in Denver, CO to parents Carroll and Eleanor Dack. Jamie graduated from West High School in Denver in 1972 where he studied a variety of subjects including auto mechanics. He played varsity football and baseball and loved the Denver Broncos. Jamie lived and worked in Denver most of his life, however, in the early 2000’s moved to McCook to pursue other opportunities.
Jamie met and married Sue (Hoyt) Dack of McCook on July 9, 2005. Jamie was an accomplished mechanic and was often called upon to repair Harley Davidsons, Indian and Euro Asian motorcycles. He also loved spending time with the six grandchildren he and Sue shared.
Jamie is survived by his wife Sue (Hoyt) Dack; three children, Nicole and husband, John Gomez, Josh and Caleb; six grandchildren, Logan, Anthony, Angelina, Gabriella, Phoenix, and Willow that he loved dearly; his sisters, Georgia (Dack) Young and husband, Terry, of Dover, DE, Marsha (Dack) Smedley and husband, Tom, of Centennial, CO, and his younger brothers, Walter Dack and wife, Brenda, of Arvada, CO, and Jon Dack of Littleton, CO; along with many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Jamie was preceded in death by his father Carroll B. Dack and mother Eleanor (Daffer) Dack; brother, LeRoy Dack of Los Angeles, CA and sister, Sue Ellen (Dack) Taylor of Batesville, MS.
