OBITUARY. Cycle mishap kills Burlington man. The death Sunday night of a Burlington man raised Michigan's traffic death toll for the Fourth of July holiday weekend to 10. The victim, Cecil Ray Salyer, 30, of Route 1, Burlington, was found dead about 8 a.m. Monday by an unidentified citizen along 11-Mile Road near F Drive S. State police at the Battle Creek Post said Salyer was killed between 4 and 11 p.m. Sunday when he apparently lost control of his motorcycle and ran off the road. Salyer reportedly never showed up for work Sunday night at Eaton Manufacturing , Marshall, where he had worked for several years. Police said reports on the accident were incomplete but said they believed an autopsy would be ordered. Sate police still had failed to identify late monday the third victim of two-car, head-on collision on "Deadman's Curve" on U. S. 12 in Hillsdale county Monday . . .Funeral services for Cecil Salyer will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Spencer Funeral Home in Athens. Salyer was born in Fostoria, Ohio. He is survived by a son, Ricky and a daughter Rhonda, both of Athens, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Chalmer (Grace Brown) Salyer of route 1, Burlington; sisters, Mrs. Sam (Dora) Vantrease of Athens and Mrs. Gale (Dorothy) Richardson of Marshall; brothers, Charles of Burlington. Chester of Union City, Clarence of 41 S. 31st St., Carl of Marshall, Chalmer Jr. of 294 S. Wattles Road and Clyde of 15 Crosby St.
Harold was injuried in a racing accident in May 1983 and was in a coma until death. There was a divorce in 1985 or 86, but due to these unusual circumstances.

Athens - Harold Arthur Reynolds, 47, of 3160 2-Mile Road died Tuesday, July 5, at Calhoun County Medical Care Facility after a lengthy illness. He suffered from injuries as a result of a race car accident at the little 500 Race at Anderson (Ind.) Speedway on May 28, 1983. He was born in Cressey and he moved to the area several years ago, graduating from Athens High School in 1960. In high school, he was an outstanding track runner and football player. He was an avid race car driver, beginning at the age of 16 and winning many awards throughout the tri-state area. In addition to farming, he and his father owned and operated Reynolds Auto Parts from 1961-1983. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman. Surviving are three sons, Scott Reynolds of Kenner, LA, Mark Reynolds of Athens and Timothy Reynolds of Athens; a stepson, Rick Salyer of Athens; a step-daughter, Rhonda Dunn of Battle Creek; his parents, Murle and Dolly Reynolds of Athens; a brother, Richard lee Reynolds of Athens, and sisters, Frances Burgett of Sherwood and Sandy Powell of Union City. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Spencer Funeral Home, Athens. Memorial donations may be made to Athens High School Athletic Association.
Harold was cremated. His son, Scott, has the cremains the last we knew.
