Over the years other "angels" have helped including Gerry Freeland, Casey Grandstaff, Amanda Mundell, Amanda Channel and David Dodd.

Birth: 6 Mar 1953
Death: 24 Jul 2014
Burial: Pride CemeteryFairmont, Marion County, West Virginia, USA
Memorial #: 133311477
Bio: Karen Joyce Carpenter, 61, of Fairmont, went to be with her precious savior on Thursday, July 24, 2014 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown following an extended illness. She was born in Marion County on March 6, 1953, a daughter of Doris (Robe) Carpenter of Fairmont and the late Rev. Glen Norman Carpenter. Karen was an active member of the Fairmont Meadowdale Wesleyan Church for 35 years. She enjoyed playing many musical instruments, especially the piano, organ and accordion. She participated as organist, secretary and filled many other positions throughout her years of service at the church. She became a Christian at eight years of age and her church values never changed over the years. As her first solo she sang, "Glory Hallelujah I shall not be moved." She also enjoyed attending church camps and revivals. She was employed as a certified home health care provider for many years. She was an avid artist both by natural skill and training. She was not only considered an angel to her family for her loving, kind personality, but also to her many friends, employers and employees. Karen accomplished every goal she would set to achieve. She enjoyed writing poetry and being the family beautician and seamstress for many weddings and parties. She never refused helping anyone who asked for a helping hand. Christmas was a special time to her, and her family knew the gifts given would be truly special. She was the best daughter, sister, sister-in-law and aunt that we as her family could have had. We all know Karen is in heaven to meet us in the sweet by and by. In addition to her mother, with whom she resided, she is survived by one sister, Linda Carpenter of Fairmont, and three brothers, Daniel Carpenter and his wife Maxine, Timothy Carpenter and his wife Teresa "Terri" Carpenter and Glen Carpenter Jr. and his wife Mary, all of Fairmont. Also surviving are four nephews, Timothy Carpenter Jr. and his wife Barb of Farmington, Joseph Carpenter of Fairmont, Daniel Carpenter Jr. and his wife Ashley of Pennsylvania and Benjamin Carpenter of Fairmont, two nieces, Elizabeth R. Carpenter of Fairmont, who was like a daughter to her being by her side throughout her illness, and Esther L. Carpenter of Fairmont. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a nephew, James N. Carpenter. Family and friends may call at Carpenter and Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant St. Fairmont. Visitation will continue at Meadowdale Wesleyan Church. The funeral service will be held in the church with Rev. Charles MacDonald, Rev. David Maley and Rev. Gregory Reynolds officiating. Interment will follow at Pride Cemetery in Marion County. Carpenter and Ford Funeral Home obit.July 2014
