MARRIAGE.  Calhoun County Clerk-Register, Marshall, MI.  1983 Marriages, #760.  Married at Battle Creek on 6 Aug. 1983, Scott Allen Emerson, age 20, b. 18 Dec 1962 at Battle Creek, residing in Battle Creek, father: Robert Joe Emerson, mother: Gayle Elaine Snyder; and Rebecca Jean Burns, age 20, b. 21 Sep 1962 at Battle Creek, residing in Battle Creek, father: William Henry Burns, mother: Betty Jean Swafford, witnesses: John Scott Barnes of Nashville, MI, and Kellie L. Rushford of Battle Creek; officiant:  Rev. James L. Moore.  Neither had been married previously.

WEDDING.  Battle Creek Enquirer and News, Sunday, 4 Sep 1983, p 10B.  Christ Community Church was the scene of the wedding Aug. 6 of Rebecca Jean Burns and Scott Allen Emerson.  The bride is the daughter of Betty Jean Burns of 114 N. Lincoln Blvd. and William Burns of Burlington and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. R. J. Emerson of 345 N. Ridgeway Drive.  Kellee Rushford was the bride's honor attendant and Scott Barnes of Hastings was the groom's best man. The bride is employed by the Battle Creek Country Club and the groom attends Kellogg Community College.  The couple are at home at 88 Wendell St. after a trip to Ohio.

OBITUARY.  Battle Creek Enquirer and News, Sunday, 29 Apr 1984, p 2B.  Scott A. Emerson, 21, of 61 E. Kingman Ave. died Saturday morning in a single-car accident.  He was born in Battle Creek and was a lifelong resident.  He graduated from Lakeview High School in 1981 and attended the Calhoun Vocational Education Center and Kellogg Community College.  He also was a member of First Congregational Church.  He had been employed at Emerson Pharmacy until the drug store closed in January 1983.  For the past three weeks, he had been employed by Polymer Technology Inc.  Surviving are his wife, the former Rebecca J. Burns; son, Brandon Scott Emerson, at home; parents, Robert and Gayle Emerson of 345 N. Ridgeway Drive; a sister, Julie A. Williams of St. Petersburg, Fla.; a brother, Steven R. Emerson of 116 Lathrop Ave.; paternal grandmother, Grace M. Emerson of 60 Country Club Drive; and maternal grandmother, Vera M. Snyder of Battle Creek.  Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Farley-Estes Funeral Home.  Burial will be in Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens, Emmett Twp., Calhoun, MI.

OBITUARY.  Battle Creek Enquirer, August 1970.  Mrs. Linda Marie Germain, 23, of Allegan and formerly of Union City, died Friday in Shelbyville, Ind., as a result of an automobile accident.  Born in Coldwater, she had lived in the Union City area most of her life. She was graduated from Union City High School in 1965 and from Western Michigan University in 1969.  She was employed as a teacher by Allegan and Martin Public School system.  Surviving are her husband, Pvt. Albert P. Germain of Fort Knox, KY, a son, Scott at home; and parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Mabus of Union City.
