OBITUARY.  Battle Creek Enquirer and News, Saturday, May 1, 1999, p 4A. Benjamin A. McCleary, 56, of Bellevue died Thursday, April 29, 1999, at home. He was born Oct. 15, 1942, in Battle Creek to Leslie and Mary (Shive) McCleary. He graduated from Pennfield High School in 1960 and immediately joined the U.S. Army.  He was stationed in Germany and New York, reaching the rank of sergeant.  He was employed by Post Cereal and Stanley Home Products, both of Battle Creek, then by Eaton Proving Grounds in Marshall.  He owned McCleary Timber Inc. in Bellevue for the last 18 years.  He married Patricia Johnson on Aug. 26, 1972.  She survives.  Also surviving are his mother; sons, David McCleary of Lansing and Mark McCleary of Bellevue; daughters, Kimberly Luther of Bellevue, Kimberly Eberhard of Weibhorn, Germany, and Nichelle Eisele of Stuttgart, Germany; a brother, Leslie McCleary of Battle Creek; and eight grandchildren.  (David McCleary and Kimberly Luther are Patricia's children by her marriage to David Johnson.  Ben adopted them.  Kimberly Eberhard and Nichelle Eisele of Germany are Ben's daughters by his marriage to Ute.)  He was preceded in death by his father.  Services will be Monday, May 3.  Burial in Oak Hill Cem., Battle Creek.
