Michael (Mike) David Carpenter of Fenton, Missouri passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family at Mercy Hospice of Johnston on February 5th, 2016. He was born in Des Moines, Iowa on August 27th, 1951, to Lyle L. Carpenter and Jeanne M. (Shaw) Carpenter. Mike graduated from Dowling Catholic High School in 1969 and pursued higher education at Iowa State. Mike devoted 45 years to the family business, CSI Chemical. Mike had a deep faith in the Lord that he shared with all those he knew. His pride and joy were his four sons and watching them build their own families and developing loving relationships with each of his nine grandchildren. In 2007, Mike married Jacqueline (Burger) Carpenter of Fenton, Missouri. They built a life there together and in recent years have enjoyed their home at the Lake of the Ozarks. Mike loved being at the lake, boating, traveling, watching Cardinals baseball, farming, coaching his son's in their youth and most importantly his family. His children describe him as a hard worker, a disciple, loving father, devoted husband and a story-teller with a great sense of humor. Michael is survived by his wife, Jacqueline Carpenter; his parents, Lyle and Jeanne Carpenter; his children and their spouses, Jerry (Kelly) Carpenter, Will Carpenter, Mike Carpenter; Scott (Kate ) Carpenter; step-son Brett (Emily) Tintera; his nine grandchildren, Madison, Katy, Lauren, Joseph, Colton, Sadie, Charlotte and step-granddaughter, Ivy; his siblings, Thomas, Patrick, Mary Jane, Joseph, Anne, Susan, Jerome and Theodore. He is preceded in death by his brother Steve; sister, Julia; step-son, Drew and niece, Ashley.

Bio: William Shaw Carpenter
December 28, 1974 - July 24, 2016William Shaw Carpenter, 42, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 24, 2016, Will was the son of Colleen Herbold Carpenter and Michael Carpenter and was the second of four boys in his family.
Will received his Juris Doctorate from Drake University School of Law after which he went to work championing the causes of the less fortunate and underprivileged, often pro bono. His practice focused on immigration and father's rights law cases. Most recently, he lived and worked in the Minneapolis, Minnesota area. Will was also a graduate of Iowa State University and Prairie City-Monroe High School where he was affectionately known by his teachers as smart, funny and "the good kind of ornery."
Will is fondly remembered for his brilliant sense of humor and ability to tell incredible stories that kept his large extended family, friends and co-workers entertained. He adored his nieces, nephews and cousins and never missed an opportunity to help out the little guy, handle a bully or make someone feel special.
Will is survived by his mother Colleen of Urbandale and brothers Jerry (Kelly), Michael and Scott (Kate), his grandparents Lyle and Jeanne Carpenter, seven nieces and nephews, dozens of cousins and fiancee Miss Piew Niputta. He was preceded in death by his father, Michael and grandparents Gerald and Celeste Herbold of Mingo.
A visitation will be held at Iles-Westover Funeral Home, on Friday, July 29, 2016 from 4-7 PM and a Catholic mass will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at 10:30 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Elkhart, Iowa. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Farrar, Iowa.
Remembrances may be made to Will's family in the form desired by friends. As someone whose large family meant everything to him, WIll would want people to remember the importance of kindness to one another, to love each other and remember that family comes first.
