The Rhinebeck Gazette, 2 Mar.1929: A very pretty wedding was solemnized at the Carpenter homestead in this town on Saturday, Feb. 16th at one o’clock when Miss Miriam B. Carpenter ws united in marriage to Elias D. Beeghly of Greenwich, L.I. in the presence of twenty relatives and friends. The ceremony was performed by Rev. W.G. Miles, a former pastor at Smithfield. The couple’s attendants were Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Cutler. The bride wore a navy blue flat crepe suit with hat to match. They left for New York and other places on interest.
In the 1930 census they are listed under Stanford, Dutchess, N.Y.: Elias D. Beeghly, 70, born Ohio; wofe Miriam C. Beeghly, 45.
Elias Dana Beeghly was born 21 May 1858 Dayton, Montgomery, Ohio and died 25 Sept.1935 Greenwich, Fairfield, Conn .
I came across much information about Miriam Carpenter and the Carpenter family from articles in local newspapers (including the above two wedding write-ups) which might be helpful if you are interested in tracing the Carpenter family (I used Miriam and Beeghly as the search terms): http://fultonhistory.com/Fulton_New_form.html
There are also details of the family on the Find A Grave site (not all correct but some newspaper clippings and headstone photographs there).Best wishes, Linda
