Descendant of John Burdick born about 1749?
NAME:
I have Alpheus, which may be a corruption of Alphens which is on his wife's gravestone. But it is also given as Stephens.
See wife's grave notes and grave info below. His gravestone reads Alpheus, but it appears to be a newer stone.GRAVE:

They resided at Warwick, RI.NOTE: A question about who she married has been asked. Alpheus Burdick is now in questions because nothing has been found to support it. However, in one death notice of Pardon C. Burdick, Tacy C. Burdick (nee Carpenter) had a spouse named Stephens A. Burdick. See notes for Pardon Burdick.
BUT ... Is the spouse name Stephens or Alphens? See Grave info below. I have Alpheus, which may be a corruption.GRAVE:

Subject: Fwd: correction to Amanda Burdick #12203
Thank you! Regarding the group #3, Rehoboth Carpenter’s on the Carpentercousins.com, there is listed at 12203 offspring of Tacy Carpenter and Alpheus Burdick: Amanda Burdick born 1827 in NY, died 1890 in MO married Daniel CAPP May 1855 (Born 1815 Died 1871). I believe this is Daniel CARP, not Capp.
My great grandmother Mabel Carp, who died when she was 108 years old in Kansas in 1988, told me her grandmother was named Amanda Burdick and her grandfather was Daniel Carp. They had 8 children including a Naomi Ellen Carp that is listed on Carpentercousins as Naomi Capp. Only Naomi Ellen is listed but there are 7 other children.
I have not been able to trace my Amanda and Daniel Carp back any further until I stumbled on to Carpenter Cousins. I found the Amanda Burdick listed there with all the correct information except Daniel’s name spelled CAPP. I feel quite certain regarding the Amanda Burdick/Daniel Carp information but the only place I have found parentage for Amanda is Carpenter Cousins and I wanted to ask you about that. I had been looking for a Silas Burdick as Amanda’s father (unconfirmed) and CarpenterCounsins.com has Amanda’s father as Alpheus Burdick and mother is Tacy Carpenter. Can I ask how the research was done? I would like to duplicate it for my own history I am putting together but when I try to research Tacy Carpenter and Alpheus Burdick through other sources, I find children other than Amanda, Jane, Alonzo and Augustus as listed on your site. If Tacy spent her entire life in Rhode Island, how could she have 4 children in New York, etc. Anyway, if you know where this information comes from it could help me to continue.
Thank in advance for any information.
TracyCENSUS: 1850 US Census - No A. Burdicks in Ohio per census search in Familysearch.org. This is strange. No, not really, birth range used was 1825-1830. (Just outside this range Familysearch.org find the two listed under Ancestry.com that follows.)
Ancestry.com has 2 listings in the 1832 birth year range residing in Ohio. See the following 2 Amanda Burdick listings:1850 United States Federal Census (This record found in Familysearch.org but the name is listed as Amanda Bendick)
