John,
I looked for Byron Carpenter, the descendant you
had marked to look for descendants.  I found him
in the 1880 census in Dayton, Campbell Co. KY,
same as you did.  I was unable to find him in any
census after this one though.  Same goes for all
the descendants of Amos Carpenter-93705 -- they
don't seem to be in the censuses.  I hope Paul
can provide us documentation that would show
where they were in the censuses.
Terry

Suggestion for birth, places and names of parents
Suggested bio:
Amos Carpenter was the son of Amos Carpenter (b. 4 Jan 1753 VT - d. 28 Sep 1830 VT) and Sarah Loftis (b. 20 Oct 1755 VT - d. 13 Feb 1833 VT).
Amos married three times.
1.
Anna Payson (b. 3 Jan 1788 VT - 26 Nov 1817 VT) on 27 May 1810 in Chittenden County, Vermont.  She reportedly died due to complications of childbirth. They had Milo (1811), Jonathan (1813) Abigail (1815) and Ruth (1816).
2.
Hannah Reynolds (b. 9 Oct 1795 VT - d. bef 1839 NY) in 1820 in Chittenden County, VT.
They had Samuel (1822), William M. 1824, Susanna (1826), Elvira (1827) and Thomas (1829).
3.
He married Delaney "Delanie" Farnsworth on 2 June 1839 in Rockingham, Windham County, Vermont.
They had four children: John Harvey (1840), Fanny June (1841), Mary Orpha (1847) and Alice L. (1858).

End suggested bio.

CAUTION:
There is a lot of confusion about the two Amos Carpenters of Le Ray, Jefferson County, NY.   Only dedicated genealogy tells them apart.
In the 1850 and 1860 US Census records there are two (2) Amos Carpenters. And only one in 1870.
That other Amos Carpenter (b. 25 Jul 1790 VT - d. 23 Jul 1865 NY)  was the son of Abel Carpenter (b. 1747 MA - d. Jun 1840 VT) and Sarah Phippen (b. abt 1754 NY - ?).
This Amos married Pamelia Chafee (12 May 1795 VT - 10 May 1839 NY) on 20 Jul 1814 VT.
While some claim he married a "Delana" Farnsworth in 1839 that is incorrect.

Amos Carpenter-42569 (b. 1790) and Amos Carpenter-93705 (b. 1785) are 6th cousins 1 time removed per the Carpenter Cousins Project.  ( https://carpentercousins.com )

Anna Payson

Note:
She reportedly died due to complications of childbirth.
