Dorothy Louise Barlow, 94, passed away on April 21st, 2018 at Northwoods Village. Dorothy was born to Loren and Vera Carpenter in Roann, Indiana on May 11th, 1923. Dorothy married Clarence Barlow on December 24th, 1945, and he preceded her in passing on December 1st, 1985.Dorothy was a member of Judson Road Christian Church for many years, teaching Sunday School for 30 years. Dorothy was very much involved in the Girl Scouts of America and volunteered for 50 years.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Kathy Barlow; sisters Julia Raypholtz, Marilyn Hoy, and Phyllis Meyers; special niece Karla Williams; adopted grandchildren Kimberly and Bambi Martin; special friend Cheryl Martin.
Dorothy is preceded in passing by her parents, 3 brothers, and 4 sisters.
Friends and family may call from 11 a.n. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 25th at Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel. A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m., officiated by Pastor Brandon Bentch. Dorothy will be laid to rest at Sunset Memory Gardens.

Plain Dealer, Wabash, INArthur J. Airgood, 82, of North Manchester, Indina died Tuesday, January 22, 2008 at 1:45am at his home. He was born February 24, 1925 in Servia, Indiana to Paul Edward and Rilla (Aughinbaugh) Airgood. He married Deloris Carpenter on June 1, 1947; she died January 22, 1968.
Arthur was a 1943 graduate of Chester High School. He retired from Cyclone Seeder, and owned Art's Country Park 32 years. Later, Arthur also worked security at Manchester College.
He was a member of the Servia United Church of Christ. Arthur held memberships in the Moose Lodge 1518 and the American Legion Post 286 both of North Manchester. He enjoyed the park business, visiting campers, being outdoors, and taking care of all park activities. Arthur was also a World War II Navy Veteran.
He is survived by his companion, Bonnie Lee of North Manchester; his five children, Donna Airgood of Sanders, Arizon, Rita Ybarra of Roanoke, Paul (Kathryn) Airgood of North Manchester, J. Marie (Randy) Sincroft of Warsaw, and June Airgood of North Manchester; six grandchildren, Bret Airgood of Columbia City, Travis Airgood of Fort Wayne, Brooke Airgood of California, Brady Airgood of North Manchester, Zachary Scheetz of Seattle, Washington, and Mackenzie Scheetz of Warsaw; two great grandchildren, Jeremiah Airgood of California, Sierra Feaser of Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was preceeded in death by two brothers and one sister.
Funeral Services will be held at Grandstaff-Hentgen Bender Chapel, 207 W. Main Street, North Manchester, on Friday, January 25, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor J.P. Freeman officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Servia. Friends may call from 2-8pm Thursday at the funeral home.

OBITUARY - 'the paper' of Wabash County (IN) - April 7, 2010Junior Maxwell "Scrappy" Forbes, 85, rural Wabash, died April 1, 3:10 p.m. at Rolling Meadows Healthcare, LaFontaine.
He was born June 1, 1924 in Wabash, to Henry M. and Myrtle M. "Marie" (Bloxson) Forbes Nelson. He married Doris B. Carpenter at Silver Creek Church in Wabash County on June 1, 1947.
Mr. Forbes had worked for Wagner Industries as a maintenance foreman until his retirement in 1986. He also had been a contractor for the family business, Macey-Forbes and Sons. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, a life member of the VFW Post 286 in Wabash, and a former member of the Izaak Walton League.
He is survived by his wife, Doris Forbes, Wabash; four children, Wayne A. Forbes, Jefferson, Texas; Thomas J. Forbes, Yoder; Eileen K. (Roger)Biehl and Brenda "Bea" (Joseph) Oswalt, both of Wabash; nine grandchildren, Time Forbes, Andrew (Amy) Oswalt and Jada Biehl, all of Wabash; Scot (Kim Jagger, Huntington; Jennifer Becker, Fort Wayne; Amanda (Jason) Randel, Roann; David (Heidi) Forbes, Fort Wayne, Lief Cox, Warsaw; and Harley Forbes, Texas; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; 11 nieces and six nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Roger Forbes, and his granddaughter, Kelly Brainard.
Funeral services will be held April 7, 2 p.m. at Grandstaff-Hentgent Funeral Service, 1251 Manchester Ave., Wabash with Pastor Rick Stone officiating. Friends may call April 6, 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Falls Cemetery. Prefered memorials are to Wabash-Miami Home Healthcare and Hospice or VFW National Home for Children.
