Thank you so much for the treasure trove! I've printed out the 114 pages and have read through about half. At least two of my concerns have already been addressed and my doubts were valid!
A couple of notes regarding my first and second generations: Daddy (Jay Nichlolas) died on Sept. 12, 1999, and is buried in the Butterfield Cem.: Mum (Goldie Marie Crowder) died July 21, 2003, and was cremated. "Rocky" Russell Jay Carpenter was Daddy's first grandson, my sister Barbara Lee's only child, and the light of all our lives!. Her ashes are buried near him as is my sister Sharon Louise. I am actually the seventh born of Jay and Goldie...first was a son named Arnold who died at, I believe, about 16 months of age, and boy/girl twins born in 1947, between my brother and me. I believe both are buried in the Moddersville Cem. with Grandfather Glen. I'm working with my sister and aunt to put tighter dates on things so the next generations will have some blocks to build on!

Ivan Wayne Austin was the son of Jim Austin and Ann Doornbos. He was born on 16 May 1939 in Falmouth, Missaukee, MI and died on 29 Dec 2013 in Kent, Michigan.
I don’t know when Sharon and Ivan divorced but Mr Austin’s obituary indicates that he married his second wife in 1974. The obit lists all his children but it’s unclear if any of them are also Sharon’s.
Before she passed away, she married a man with the last name of Schafer.

Mason Ave., died today in the Thornapple Valley Home and Medical Facility near Hastings following a long illness. Born in Leonidas Twp., St. Joseph , Sept. 17, 1880, he was the son of Nathan and Elmina (Wilson) Green. He first came to Battle Creek in 1917 and was a Post employee 13 years, then worked 20 years as a roofer for the Sherriff-Goslin Later he was employed by the Clark Equipment , retiring in 1952. He was married in 1904 at Sherman, to Mae Howe, who died here June 4, 1959. His survivors include two daughters, Mrs. John (Audrey) Brown of the Mason Avenue address and Mrs. Loren (Lila) Samis of Hastings, 19 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

OBITUARY. Battle Creek Enquirer and News, Friday, June 5, 1959, p. 26. Mrs. Kitty Mae Green, 76, of Assyria Twp., died yesterday at a local hospital. She was born Oct. 13, 1882, in Edmore, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Howe. On Dec. 31, 1900, she was married to Lewis W. Green, who survives. Other survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Lorn (Lilia) Samis of Marquette, MI, and Mrs. John (Audrey) Brown of 91 S. Mason Ave.; 18 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Mr. and Mrs. Green came to Battle Creek in 1918 and made their home at 414 E. Roosevelt Ave. before moving to Assyria Twp. last September.

In 1925 Ivan Green was of Battle Creek according to his mother's obituary. We previously had a son listed as Samuel, but find no other references to a Samuel. In 1944 Ivan Green was of 91 Cherry Street, Battle Creek, according to his sister's, Luella Green Wart's, obituary.

OBITUARY. Battle Creek Enquirer and News, Tuesday, October 10, 1944. Ivan E. (Sam) Green, 59, of 91 Cherry, died of a heart attack at his home at 2:45 p.m. Monday. Mr. Green had had a previous attack last Wednesday and was in bed on his physician's orders when the fatal attack occurred. He was born Sept. 17, 1885, at Sherman, Mich., the son of Nathan and Elmina (Wilson) Green. He came to Battle Creek 25 years ago and worked as a furnace installer and repairman. For the last two years he was employed by E. L. Sult & Son. He is survived by two brothers, John and Lewis Green of 221 East Roosevelt, and two sisters, Mrs. Edith Burt of 312 South Avenue and Mrs. E. L. Sult of 1 Avenue B. He was a member of Manton Lodge, No. 357, IOOF, of Manton, Mich. Funeral services will be held Thursday at Mesick, Mich.
