Lawrence E. Satterfield, 74, 725 S. Elliott St., died at Ball Hospital at 2:50 a.m. Tuesday after an illness of six weeks. He had been employed by Muncie-Chevrolet for 18 years until his retirement a year and a half ago.Mr. Satterfield was born in West Virginia and had been a resident of Muncie 58 years. He was a member of the Christian Fellowship in Christ Church, UAWA and the CIO Local 499.
Surviving are his wife, Alda; four sons, E. Gerald Satterfield and D. Dana Satterfield, both of Muncie, Albert M. Satterfield of Parker, and Sherman E. Satterfield of Royerton; one daughter, Mrs. Velda Weaver of Muncie; 16 grandchildren; one brother, John W. Satterfield of Muncie; and a sister, Mrs. Nettie Williamson of Dayton, Ohio.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Parson Mortuary at 1:30 p.m. Friday by the Rev. Paul Brown and burial will follow in Mt. Tabor Cemetery. Friends may call at the mortuary after noon Thursday.

Mrs. Satterfield was a native of West Virginia and had lived in Muncie for 40 years before moving to Florida four years ago. She was a member of the East 23rd Street Church of Christ in Christian Union.
Surviving are four sons, Dana and Gerald Satterfield, both of Muncie, Albert, St. Petersburg, and Sherman of South Bend; a daughter, Mrs. Velda Weaver, St. Petersburg; and 17 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Parson Mortuary with Rev. Paul Brown and Rev. David Rutherford officiating. Burial will be in Mount Tabor Cemetery. Friends may call at the mortuary after 2 p.m. Sunday.

Bio: The Muncie Star Press, Thursday, October 28, 2010, page 6AINDIANAPOLIS--Delbert "Dana" Satterfield, 89, passed away late Tuesday evening at the Wildwood Health Care Center in Indianapolis. He was born in Arden, West Virginia, the son of Lawrence and Ada (Weaver) Satterfield. When Mr. Satterfield was five, the family moved to the Muncie area. He graduated from Muncie Central High School in 1939. Delbert married the love of his life Mary Lou (Matson) Satterfield on November 7, 1941 in Muncie.
Mr. Satterfield had served the United States Army during World War II as a Staff Sergeant in the 2520 AAF Base Unit. He had been an Armorer Gunner on a B-24 type aircraft where he flew 38 combat missions and had accumulated 250 combat hours. Mr. Satterfield served over seas in the European Theatre for nine months. Later he spent the remainder of his time in the military as a Clerk Typist. Delbert retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 35 years as a letter carrier, retiring in 1985. He was a former member of the Yorktown United Methodist Church, currently a member of the Fountain Square United Methodist Church, Knights of Pythias where he had been the Past Grand Chancellor, Knight of the Golden Sput, D.O.K.K. and is a former member of the Yorktown Lions Club. He enjoyed camping, fishing, bowling and loved family activities.
Survivors include his son, John Satterfield (wife-Brenda), Indianapolis; his daughter, Cheryl Murphy (husband-Ronald), Yorktown; five grandchildren, Jonna Satterfield, Indianapolis, Chad Hartley (wife-Verronica), Yorktown, Tonya Murphy, Muncie, Tina Murphy, Bowling Green, Kentucky, and Ronald D. Murphy, Muncie; six great-grandchildren, Zachary, Jamie, Casey Hartley, Jasyn Murphy, Sara Creech, and Kayla Murphy; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Mary Lou Satterfield in 2005; one daughter, Susan Kay Satterfield, three brothers, Sherman, Gerald and Albert Satterfield; and one sister, Velda Weaver.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at the Parson Mortuary with Pastor Steve Graves officiating. Burial will follow in Elm Ridge Cemetery. Delaware County Honor Guard will provide Military Honors. A Knights of Pythias Memorial Service will be held on Friday evening at 7:30 p.m. Friends may call at the mortuary on Friday from 4-8 p.m. and again on Saturday from 10 a.m. until service time.

He was born in Muncie, graduated from Central High School in 1927, and attended Ball State University.Mr. Satterfield and his first wife, Lillian Lundberg Satterfield, who died in 1980, were co-owners of Satterfield Clothing Shop, 3901 E. Jackson St., before retiring in 1972, at which time they moved to Venice. Earlier, he was an employee of Inter State Motor Freight Co. and Nickel Plate Railroad.
He was a member of Englewood Elks Club 2378 and a former member of Elks Lodge 245.
Surviving are his wife, Hazel Blowers Satterfield; a daughter, Patricia Kosek, Shadyside, Ohio; four stepdaughters, Nancy Palermo, Eatontown, N.J., Joanne Sage, Baldwinsville, N.Y., Virginia Van Slyke, New Hartford, N.Y., and Doris Reiser, Morrisville, N.Y.; three grandchildren; 14 stepgrandchildren; a sister, Agnes (Mrs. Charles) Marshall, Fort Wayne, and a brother, William Satterfield, Muncie.

Surviving besides her husband are her daughter, Mrs. Steven (Patricia) Kosek, Shadyside, Ohio; two grandchildren; and her brother, Elmer Lundberg, Morgantown.

William Kenneth Martin, 86 of Fairmont, passed away on Thursday, April 13, 2017 at Fairmont Regional Medical Center.He was born in Fairmont on June 10, 1930 a son of the late William Russell Martin and Mary (Carpenter) Martin.
He is survived by his loving wife, Judith Ann (Myers) Martin. The couple were married in November of 1958.
He served his country in the United States Navy. Kenneth was a member of the Victory Baptist Church. He retired from GA Brown Contracting as a Foreman. He was a member of the Carpenter's Union.Kenneth enjoyed hunting and fishing. He most enjoyed spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Kimberly Lee Bruder and her husband Gary of Fairmont; a granddaughter, Gloria Sirk of Grafton and a very special great grandson, Nicholas Williams.
Also surviving are his sisters, Kathleen Daristotle and her husband Joe of Fairmont, Rhoda Seccuro of Fairmont and Janet Sal of Morgantown and nieces, nephews and several cousins.In addition to her parents, Kenneth was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Martin and a brother-in-law, Tom Sal.
Friends and family may call at the Carpenter & Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant Street, Fairmont on Friday from 4pm to 8pm and Saturday from 10am to 11am. The funeral service will be at 11am on Saturday, April 15, 2017 with Pastor Nathan Barker officiating. Interment services will follow at the Grandview Memorial Gardens. Full military honors will be conducted at graveside by the Marion County Military Council Honor Guard.

Judith "Judy" Ann Martin, 79, of Fairmont passed away on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at Ruby Memorial Hospital following a massive stroke.She was born in Fairmont on November 3, 1937 a daughter of the late Henry Thomas Myers and Olivia (Boyce) Myers. Judith was preceded in death by her devoted husband, William Kenneth Martin in April of 2017. The couple were married November 21, 1958.
She was a homemaker, loving wife, mother and grandmother. Judith was a Christian, Baptized into the faith at Victory Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughter Kimberly Martin-Bruder and husband Gary Bruder of Fairmont; her granddaughter Gloria Sirk, and her great grandson Nicholas Williams, both of Fairmont.
Also surviving are her brother David A. Myers and his wife Winfred of Fairmont, and her sister Deronda Malone of Farmington; three sisters-in-law, Kathleen Daristottle and her husband Joe of Fairmont, Rhoda Seccuro of Fairmont and Janet Sal of Morgantown and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Judith was preceded in death by her father-in-law and mother-in-la William Russell and Mary (Carpenter) Martin, and a brother Henry Thomas "Tom" Myers.Mrs. Martin's family would like to thank the Clergy at Ruby Memorial Hospital for their comfort during their difficult time.

February 08, 1933 - September 19, 2018Kathleen Louise Daristotle, 85, of Fairmont passed away Wednesday afternoon September 19, 2018 at Fairmont Regional Medical Center. She was born on February 8, 1933 in Fairmont daughter of the late William Russell and Mary Lee Carpenter Martin.
Kathleen retired from Phillips Lighting formerly Westinghouse, and previously she worked at C&P Telephone, and the Marion County Rescue Squad. She graduated from East Fairmont High School and belonged to local travel clubs and bowling leagues. She was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church.
Kathleen is survived by her husband Joseph “Rosco” Daristotle and two sisters Rhoda Seccuro of Fairmont and Janet Sal of Morgantown. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Roselee Kelley Hood, 86, of Bellview Community, passed away on Sunday, June 30, 2019 at Mon General Hospital with her family by her side. Roselee was born in Fairmont on March 31, 1933. She was the daughter of Winfield and Katherine Carpenter Kelley.Roselee was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. In her early days, she worked at the Union Lunch and Parkette, but later she became an in-home caregiver for the elderly. She loved spending time and cooking for her family. She loved going to yard sales with her grandchildren and playing cards.
Roselee is survived by her daughters, Penney (John) Melton, Debbie (Danny) Roberts, and a son, Charles Hood, all of Fairmont; four grandsons, Eric (Rebecca) Melton, Todd (Ashley Shroyer) Melton, Steven (Caitlin) Roberts of Fairmont, and Jeff (Nicole) Roberts of St. Albins. She is also survived by her 8 great grandchildren, Eric, Conner, Tanner, Megan, Emma, Jaxson Melton, and Ella and Lincoln Roberts; a brother, Odist (Linda) Kelley; sisters, Shirley Shroyer and Carol (Ted) Gilkerson; and a sister-in-law, Freda Kelley. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews who she loved.
In addition to her parents, Roselee was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Earl Hood, he was the love of her life; 2 infant children, Cathy and Earl, who she always held close to her heart; her brother, Scott Kelley; sisters, Helen Furbee and Jean Nichols; and two infant siblings.
Roselee’s family would like to thank the Fairmont Clinic and Dr. Paliwal and his staff for all they have done over the years.
Her children and grandchildren would like to say that their mother and grandma will truly be missed and she was so loved.
Cremation services have been provided by Domico Funeral Home in Fairmont.

John was the last survivor of his immediately family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a very special aunt, Mildred Ledsome.

Bio: James A. Reese Sr., 88, of Mansfield went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 11, 2017 at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital. He was the son of Glenn and Ethel (Carpenter) Reese and was born on July 22, 1928 in Philippi, West Virginia.“Day is done, gone the sun from the lake, from the hill, from the sky. All is well, safely rest. God is nigh. Thanks and praise for our days ‘neath the sun, ‘neath the stars, ‘neath the sky. As we go, this we know. God is nigh.”
James proudly served his country in the US Army. While in the Army he played football, and while serving during the latter part of WWII he learned automotive training. James moved to Mansfield for work, and retired after 38 years from AK Steel where he was a crane operator. He always played Santa Claus for the Local Union 169 Steel Workers Christmas party. James was involved in coaching youth football and basketball for over 30 years for the YMCA and Friendly House. He was involved at the Community Baptist Church where he drove the bus for events, and greatly enjoyed being with the children. James was loved by one and all and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his children, Jessie Reese, James Reese Jr. (Celeste), David (Michelle) Reese, and Linda Addington; nine grandchildren, David (Brooke) Reese II., Andrew (Kimber) Reese, Misty Reese, Ryan Addington, Amber (Chris) Dorsey, Jason Addington, Carrie (Dan) English, Preschie (David) Stirtzinger, and Tiffany Jessop; fourteen great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Flora Adkins, Charlotte Martin, and Mae Reese; a brother-in-law, Chester (Carol) Martin; and many nephews and nieces. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife whom passed on October 29, 2003, Jessie Reese; a great grandson, Andrew James Reese; and brothers, June Reese and Richard Reese; and son-in-law, Randall Addington.
The family will welcome friends from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St. Mansfield. A funeral service officiated by Rev. Clifford Earl Tackett will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 16, 2017 at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery.

Bio: Jessie Lee Reese, 69, of Mansfield, died unexpectedly early Wednesday morning, October 29, 2003 at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital. She was born February 11, 1934 in Fairmont, West Virginia to James and Sina (Ledsome) Martin. Jessie was a Mansfield area homemaker since 1952. She was a member of Community Baptist Bible Church. Jessie was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her husband, James Reese; children, Jessie A. Reese, James A. Reese, Jr., David and Michelle Reese and Linda and Randall Addington, all of Mansfield; five grandchildren, David Reese II of Arizona, Andrew Reese, Ryan Addington, Misty Reese and Amber Addington, all of Mansfield; one great-grandson, David Reese III; three step-grandchildren, Jason Addington, Carrie English, and Preshie Stirtzinger; six step-great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Flora and Bill Adkins of Mansfield; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Ernest and Nellie Martin of Florida, Chester and Carol Martin of North Carolina, and Ralph and Carol Martin of West Virginia; sisters-in-law, Sue Martin of Mansfield, Geneva Martin and Charlotte Martin, both of West Virginia; two brothers-in-law and a sister-in-law, Kenneth Shuck of West Virginia and Richard W. and Vera Reese of Mansfield; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Geraldine Martin and Sadie Schuck; and brothers, Bill Martin, Harold Martin and Oscar Martin.
Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, Friday, October 31 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral services conducted by Pastor Randall Collins will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery.Family Members

Bio: Richard W. "Red" Reese, age 75, died Saturday morning, October 6, 2007. Red died at home surrounded by his family and friends. He was born December 17, 1931 in Fairmont, W. Virginia to the late Glenn A. and Ethel E. Carpenter Reese. He had a great sense of humor that he shared with his family and friends and could always be seen in a different car. Mr. Reese was retired from the City of Mansfield after thirty years of service.
Surviving are his wife of fifty-two years, Vera "Mae" Reese; two sons, Jim (Rhonda) Reese of Shelby and Roger (Debi) Reese of Mansfield; two daughters, Sharon Cleveland and Laura (Jeff) Dropsey both of Mansfield; a host of grand and great grandchildren; a brother, James Reese of Mansfield and a host of nieces and nephews. Red was preceded in death by his parents; a brother Glenn Reese, Jr. and a great grandson.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, October 10, 2007 at 10:30 a.m.in the Diamond St. Home of Wappner Funeral Directors by Rev. Brian Phillips. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 4-8 pm. Burial will be in Mansfield Cemetery.Family Members
